Too big to be micro managed
by Vinod Potty on Jun 16, 2011 12:13 PM

Sorry to disagree with most of you. But, do you really think that the PM or the ministers are educated and informed technicians to actually analyse these requirements and the corresponding procurements?

They rely on their department chiefs, who rely on their techical staff leads, who are much too old to know the current technology and inturn rely on the young technicians' reports, who rely on pamplets from the foreign vendors.

We can not blame the man (or woman) on the top for what tit-bits these chokara's do. What is the need of the hour is an investigation agency which is sufficiently equiped with techical experts to analyse and brief the top chiefs on deals more than 'n' crores. The department must be independent and must span across ministries. Also, there must be a seperate segment (like defence auditor) for the intelligence and other covert agencies' audits.

I will praise and support the PM for his decision to give a green signal for the inquiry. He could have just given a single red signal (or rather not reply at all and let the NSA's decission become final) and left the matter to rest (or rather rust). But, his action shows that he does not want mud under the carpet. He wants to expose and clean his home.

How many skeletons in the cupboard?
by chilkoor sachidev kumar on Jun 15, 2011 03:21 PM

Unfortunate we have a CAG and despite their notings, the PMO and his gang sit tight on it, thinking no one will notice. It is time that the CAG listed out all the notings on the various subjects they have made so far and put in an official website. Atleast we can do the stock taking. Action Taking will anyway take a long time. This will stem the rot now.

a cheap Act.
by Ranbir Thakur on Jun 15, 2011 03:06 PM  | Hide replies

A scam of mere Rs. 450crores(few hundred crors) is a very cheap act and dosn't match with Congress Status of doing bigger things(couple of lacs crores).
People involved must be some Trainees of Congress Cadre.

Thanks to the PM, this scam sees daylight. Now we have to make room for some Maj Generals and RAW officials at Tihar. Do not forget MKN too.

Krishna Nandan
another scam in UPA II
by Krishna Nandan on Jun 15, 2011 02:51 PM

yet another scam. but the amount involved is too less. I would not even consider it as a scam considering the fact that congis are capable of doing bigger scams. afterall what will sonia, manmohan, chodumbaram & pranab get as their share in this small 450 cr scam. they need to do something big like 2G. Only then the congis will do justice to their name & fame.
