What's wrong !

It is a matter of opinion, as to which Hindu text is the most celebrated one around the world, as there are no statistics to prove one over the other.

In any case, I don't see anything wrong with what the designer has said. It is just his opinion, based on his exposure to the world. Those who oppose his view may have been confused with the meanings of the words 'celebrate' and 'world'.

The Vedas and Upanishads may be the most holy texts for Hindus, but how many people in the 'world' even know they exist? And these text are revered by Indian hindus, how can we automatically assume that the world also treats them the same way? To my knowledge, most westerners who have never heard of Vedas all have heard of Kamasutra. (Africans, other Asians, and South Americans have no clue of these whatsoever).

Besides this, what is the problem with Kamasutra being celebrated? Traditionally our brains have been drilled with a negative impression about sex. We have been instructed that celebacy is the prerequisite for spiritual advancement, a myth that has been debunked even during ancient times, when lot of rishis and munis were married. If sex is taboo, why will Vatsyayana, who himself is a yogi, why should write his magnum opus on this subject?

My last anguish is: who the f is Rajan Zed? And how did he become the voice of reason prepresenting Hindus of the world? If he has any affinity toward hinduism, should he be living in India, rather than US, the land of free sex?

Designer Suneet Varma is the most celebrated man on earth.
Who is he any way? Never heard of him. Why does he spell his first name as Suneet rather than Sunni?
He could be the most inebriated man!

There is nothing wrong in Mr.Varma talking about kamasutra. It is really one of the most popular Indian Taxt Univarsally known. He has not insulted other texts. Why should he apologise ?.If he is talking on some relegious platform he may refer Bagavadgita or Vedas.Definitely it is not a controversy at all.People should have broad mind.
