If men have come from apes, how come even apes do not ape the likes of the above two men?
And, if men haven't come from apes, the above two men should have atleast taken a lesson from apes. They don't indulge in such sub-human acts!

Don't forget basics
by Truth Teller on Jul 25, 2011 12:27 PM  | Hide replies

Look at every creature including plants and animals in the creation. They all were created with certain design in body structure, breathing system, digestion system, reproduction system, internal organs, etc. Simlarly human is created to breath with breathing system, digesting with digestion system, reproducing using designed and created reproduction system.

For example, if you see someone who is healthy, but not eating with mouth -let's say pushing food through nose and then to throat-, don't you think there is something wrong? Stragely, some people around might call such behaviour as fun and some even adopt such behaviour. Just bcos many adopting certain way of living it doesn't become right or healthy.

Look at animals and learn, they are consistent in using their body parts to what they are meant for. Let me tell one final line, God created every human and parts for a purpose and if the human body is not used for that very purpose, it is called abuse, and such people are accountable to God one day before His judgement seat.

Why do we have to interfere in what two consenting adults decide to do in their private lifes ?

I am a Muslim and believe that homosexuality is a SIN.

But not every SIN is a CRIME. We need to understand that distinction.

i totally agree with you from a religious perspective.

But why should I/we impose our religious beliefs on others?

If a person is athiest?

SIN and CRIMES are not necessary the same things.

but some gay couples have got child thro surrogate mothers. Isn't it against nature for a child to be raised up by two men?

Homosexuality – SIN or crime?
by imran patel on Jul 25, 2011 12:18 PM  | Hide replies

It is sad that the whole issue of homosexuality is hijacked by two camps. On one hand we will have people from the religious right & political opportunists wanting to criminalize it and on the other hand we will have Hollywood secular elites demanding that people accept homosexuality as a way of life.

Before we blindly align ourselves with either of the two camps, let’s take a step back and access the whole situation from a legal and religious perspective.

Here is my thought process on how we may address this subject.

I am a Muslim and believe that homosexuality is a SIN.

Based on my religious beliefs, I cannot accept homosexuality as a way of life. My attitude towards homosexuals ought is the same as that towards people who commit other sins such as adultery, alcoholism, abortion, gambling, corruption, interest, etc. I have disgust towards the act BUT Inshallah the courage to advise individuals to stay away from these sins. Our concern and focus ought to be on ourselves and people around us, reminding of these sins and staying away from them.

Secondly, we have people who want to criminalize it. People with this mindset usually use the “un-natural” or “greater good of society” rationale to push for laws.

I ask myself whether criminalizing homosexuality will make it disappear. I do not think so. As Muslims we do not lead our lives based solely on the rule of the land. We have a moral compass derived from our faith and the teachings of our beloved Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). Our moral guidelines are more prudent and pertinent to us than state laws. Hence de-criminalizing the sale of alcohol or homosexuality should not affect us in any way. A Muslim should not be getting drunk just because it is legal after 18/21/24 years.

Hence our response to homosexuality should be the following:

-      It is a sin based on my religious beliefs and would advise people to stay away from it.
-      Government should NOT criminalize any type of relationship between consenting adults
-      Individuals should have the same legal rights irrespective of race, region, gender or sexual orientation

Appreciate your feedback and advice.

How is that even related to this subject ?

My position is simple. Government should not interefere in the personal choices of consenting adults...Be it homosexuality or prostitution.

It is not the role of government to legislate moral behaviour. Moral changes happen at the family, community level. They need education and not brute force.

YOu now seem to not want goernmental interference but you wanted yourself to courageously interfere and ask people stay away from SINS. You must decide morals for yourself (not for otheres!) and stay away from what you do not like.

Kiran...This is where you miss the point.

Teaching of Morals does not involve punishment or the use of force.

I will advise people to stay away from alcohol, gambling, homosexuality, prostitution, etc. But I do not want to criminalize them for making those choices as long as it is consentual.

And our history of law enforcement is so impressive!!!
