Teen suicide in Lakhimpur
by KARTIC KRISHNAN on Jul 17, 2011 07:11 PM

The instant report doesnt seem to be accurate per se. Was the teen murdered after being raped and forced to sign a suicide statement saying she had been beaten by public?

catch their parents guardians
by Mr Walker on Jul 17, 2011 03:56 PM

I think with these men even their parents , guardians and society members who support such thinking against women are responsible and deserve equal or worst punishment.
Also women should become strong and oppose such crimes on the spot meting out instant punishment if the criminal does not stop.
Every person is entitled to protect himself/herself, few direct punishments will go a long way in scaring such fools.

Rape issues

Starting from UP there should be a woman police officer at all police stations so that a woman going to lodge an FIR does not have to go to a man policeman. Any party which can even promise this will get all the womens votes irrespective of caste.

Women Police
by KARTIC KRISHNAN on Jul 17, 2011 02:18 PM

There should be more women in police force.
Otherwise proper investigation is stillborn. Indian criminal code states that only women police can arrest/handle women criminals. This should be insisted upon. Otherwise what follows is a travesty (vyangya)nyay

I would rather teach them self defense and arm them instead of putting into a burqa prison.
Only those who consider women as inferior will give such advice.
