Trivedi's resume is impressive. He seems to be a good blend of East & West. However,will he be allowed to function independently and in the nation's interest? His wings would be clipped by MMS(not the PM but Mamata,Manmohan & Sonia)if he flew too high!His frustrations later may lead him to do what many other Ministers in the UPA are doing-twidling their thumbs and awaiting orders from their High Command!
It is Mamata, who brought out talents across all sections of the society, irrespective of religion, language, caste etc. on the board in polictics. Talented and deserving people like Dinesh, Derek, Rachpal, Debashree, Anup, Amit and many more are in politics in West Bengal because of Mamata...and if some one is talented, with experience, they are most welcome to join politics, as per Mamata, as it seems to me. In the last 34 years in WB, these commys have created a pseudo Bong intellectual poilitical leadership, where jokers like Goutam Deb and Biman Bose are trying their best to run the show.
Ms Bhatt probably do not know that Bengalis in particular and people of W.Bengal in general never vote in terms of caste,creed,religion. Thats why it is not tough for Mr Trivedi to win from barrackpore or Mr Rachpal Singh to win from Tarakeswar in Assembly poles.Incidentally both defeated bengali rivals. People in Bengal vote on political line on party basis.That is why social engineering is not possible in bengal like Mayavati,Lalu etc who combine Upper Caste,OBC,Dalits.Minorities time to time for their advantage to effect social engineering and win elections.It was the reason which LF used to remain in power as socual mobility is not there in voting pattern?

By now Trivedi is 100% bengali by heart,he listens rabindra sangeet.He will devote all his good effort for the prosperity of bengal and not with gujarat. He is highly respected in Bengal, do not belittle by pointing to his guajarati birth!

Yes Trivedi is an Indian ..and currently staying in Bengal....but if u check his record he previously contested election with Janta dal and kangress .....he lost heavily in 1996 from kutch (Gujarat) against BJP so moved his shop to bongal.. anyway he looks very well qualified ....hope he do good for railways unlike lalu,chalu,momta etc who thinks railway is only their personal jagirdari and only for their state only ( bihar or bongal)....

That also explaines, Rahul using "PAD YATRA" and " MAHA KISHAN SAMITI"
It was reduced to "MINORITY PARTY".
and I still believe it is party for so called "MINORITY"
China is progressing with Bullet Trains and we need visionaries now in this Ministry who can convince the dumb Indian politicians not all in India can travel by Planes and transportation of Steel, Raw Materials, Food/ Vegetables, Fruits should reach the Indian public quickly to make our country strong. The internal network of rail and road should not be good but should be the best in world.
Please work for that...given you were in US and came back...make sure the Quality of service improves and help India march forward.

Every bad thing said and done about Lalu Prasad it is to be acknowledged that he turned the railways from the red and where has the surplus gone. In one of the interviews after the recent accident it was heard that railways are bankrupt with no money for mordernisation. During Lalu's period Re.1/- was collected as cess on every ticket for modern signals and all other networks for safety. There are about 50 lakh customers per day and 50 lakhs into 365 days is huge amount to make railways a five star luxury. Trivedi saab, please start that Re.1/- surcharge on every ticket and spend the money for safety only. You do not have to ask anybody like WB, ADB or any other bank. People will be ready to pay Re.1/- per ticket for safety (and Rs.5/- for insurance) and every day collection will be around 50 lakhs.
