We teh Indian
by nirav punekar on Jan 31, 2011 11:51 AM

It is difficult for Indian to Unit for the nation. For Centuries Outsiders ruled us & looted our wealth, we were fighting among ourselves till Gandhi came.
Now our electronic media is dividing nation in the name of secularism. We have scams of the size which are bigger than annual budget of many small nations.
Our infrastructure & basic needs like water, health, and medicine are of 18th century in major part of the country. We have world class apartments & world class cars with 4th world roads & traffic system.
Our politicians are busy in making money out of Roti & Makan & we are busy in boosting about India emerging as super power. Corruption has become second name for Indians & we fight who is worst North Indian or South Indian ? We can not even unit in writing message in Rediff column.

Uprising

What's happening in Egypt is undoubtedly an uprising. Youths have taken the lead and all have realised that this is the opportunity to get rid of the bad governance and "democratic dictatorship."

Immediately after 26/11 the youths of Mumbai too were ignited with almost similar feelings against the bad governance and "democratic dictatorship" in India. It was a spontanious reaction without any political leader or party leading it. But alas! the ignition never turned in flame and was turned off and most of us didn't realize the importance of it.

Commenting & blogging on Net is not sufficient it should be followed by action as Egyptian are doing.

WE TOO NEED CHANGE FROM THE "DEMOCRATIC DICTATORSHIP"

it is not about islam, it is about bad governance in Egypt and tyrranny unleashed by Hosni Mubarak and his cronies, There were 3 elections in the last 30 years and two choices were given to electorate, both had yes for Mubarak.. and now people of Egypt realized, in an election there should be an alternative to one of the yes.. and now the effect being felt.

Satish

Can you justify your statement?
During late 70s Iran was not a Islamic country. But what it is now?
Untill 2002, Iraq was a secular country. The christians were living peacefully there. Bush told that he got a dream from god and invaded Iraq. What is the situation now?
In India you dont have the guts to stop one right of muslim (refer to the oppsition demands such as Uniform Civil Code, Hajj subsidi etc)you can not even touch any of them. Few days modi ventured some misdeeds and now all his holes are shut. This is a challange if he dares try to repeat once. Can you please enlghten me what is your justification for your statement?

One of the most important tenets of Islam, is to give and receive knowledge... This is the beauty of Islam. This emphasis on knowledge gave the world Islamic Art, Science, Philosophy... This also made the Islamic society richer as time passed... Isn't it sad that the same religion is in the dumps now. The Champions of Islam are no more than barbarians???

Nice message mr. netra? "The Champions of Islam are no more than barbarians???" This does not mean that Islam is collapsed. you are trying to find fault with the muslims. A fault of muslim can never make any dent to Islam. I tell you one thing: A jewish group which was opposing the construction of mosque in America now advocating to bulid mosque. within a decades time there will be 10 more new mosques in US. This shows Islam is spreading. Let the champions of Islam be barbarians. That is not the fault of Islam. you may very well know that sensible messages are always good.

Egypt uprising
by Sowri Rajan on Jan 31, 2011 11:22 AM

Mubarak has been ruling Egypt like Hitler. No proper elections. If at all elections are held, it is only an eye wash. If at all there is an election, 5% of the total seats are given to the opposition parties to contest. 95% of the seats are with the ruling party. Once the election results are announced, the funny part is - all 500 elected members will kiss mubarak and there will be a direct telecast of this circus. Qualified Doctors and Engineers work in restaurants as 'waiters' as they get first employment and better wages by way of tips. It is sad that because of Mubarak (and the US aid which is for exploiting Suez Canal), this country could never raise from poverty. It is time for Mubarak to leave and let someone qualified rule the country.
