re: In their defense
by Ravi Embar on Feb 02, 2011 06:18 AM

The airforce was known to crash MIG-21s and now have purchased much more expensive planes for crash-testing. The Navy has just sunk one of its frigates. There have been several case of Army personnel shooting their own. All these offensive incidents have placed the armed forces in a defensive position.

THis is state of Indian Navy

We were proud of our defence but this incident shows that the captain and his watch officers were sleeping and thus allowed this war ship to collide, go in flame and finally sink. What a shame? It may be quite likely that there may be link with Adarsh Housing Society and the senior officer working on this war ship.Does Govt care really?

Corruption and Non Professionalism to the core

If this is sate of affairs with our defence than we should stop shouting about our so called millitary strength. This ship could not be saved even after it was brought to the Navy's dock yard. A warship simply burnt and sank by a collision with a merchant ship! We are spending billions in defence purchases (As we can not create even an allpin on our own), it is clear where this money is going , literally down to the bottom! I am pretty scared that god forbid when required our arsenal, jets, tanks, ships, missile may just fizzle out and dont match even diwali crackers ! A revolution is needed to cleanse the rotten system.

400 family members of Navy Men had a real time Titanic experience. The cause of accident may be also the same, sailors gazing at some romantic couple or it may also be a case of drunken driving.

Karan Johar can make a movie on it "Vindhyagiri-a tale of Indian Titanic".At the last shot Shahrukh Khan will sink saving Deepika Padukone as he does not know swimming in sea waters.

A friendly suggestion.....
by Vishvaksenah E on Feb 01, 2011 07:47 AM

.....to the Navy.
The "sinking of INS Vindhyagiri" causes sorrow amongst us all.
But what's the real reason for this sinking.
Even if the Navy constitutes a commission of inquiry , they will not be able to find it.

The group which executed this sinking is very sophisticated and it will be impossible for the Naval forces to identify them.

But there is nothing to worry. There is always a solution to any vexed problem.

I request the Naval authorities to request CID Diggi to find out who the culprits were.

CID Diggi with his alacrity will be able to finish the investigation in a very short time frame , say just 420 to 786 seconds.

Long live secularism!

Navy or the Army will never take any blame on them
by G. Rebello on Feb 01, 2011 07:17 AM

last year in pune (dehu-road) a scrap dealer was killed by a expired shell which was sold by the army to him.the expired shell exploded when the scrap dealer was breaking it.the army and media personal blamed the scrap dealer for this incident.

Here the army was at fault as the army has all the knowledge about the expired shell they sold it to a scrap dealer who had no knowledge about the shell who purchased the shell with trust in the army men ( also on past occasions .here the army should be blamed as how did they sell the dangerous shell to a common scrap dealer by risking peoples lives ? will a person break the shell by risking his life if he knew that it will blast ?

also like to mention that ARMY men think great of theirself as i travel by goa express train and army men travel by that train from belgaum - delhi , they eve tease females on the train, pass lewed comments on them and so on . they think great of themselves.

navy and army will never take blame on themselves.

For all you f00ls talking through their azz
by blueman on Feb 01, 2011 07:04 AM  | Hide replies

its funny to read comments from such illiterate people on this board who think they know it all. first of all you idi0ts need to realize that steering a ship into a harbor is not like driving your car where you can turn when you want, you have someone called a "pilot" who works at the local port who acts like the person in the ATC tower during flight landing. The "pilot" gives the information that literally steers the ship in and out, if he screws up with giving directions this happens much like when the ATC screws up a flight crashes. The ship began to sink because being the port its sea bed is shallow and the hull very easily touches the sea bed.

Its funny seeing you mor0ns type in your sh!t and the "expert" commentary that follows, the problem with the country is f00ls like you who know nothing, DO NOTHING, but sit on their f4t azz all day giving "gaalis" to everyone one and everything without thinking, there is a word for lazy azz's like you its called sheeple, google it

See, you have proved how illiterate you are by making that statement, get an education sometime, and read my paragraph about how a ship enters a port, but then an illiterate f00l like you cannot read, you have proved it, now go "oogle" away, god save this country if idi0ts like you are in the majority

Were our sailors drinking?
by B M on Feb 01, 2011 07:01 AM  | Hide replies

This is a shocking incident. Our navy is supposed to be ever vigilant and failed to track a big merchant vessel! Were the navy sailors drinking?

naval ship doesn't necessarily mean collision vessel. a merchant ship can be many time larger and huge than a warship. merchant ship hit the warship's engine part hence greater damage.

But its laughable when admiral says that other ships don't have navigational aids.... when your men knew very well that such ships enter mumbai dockyard ..your men should be doubly careful ...you cannot put the onus on others
