i think that vastanvi wants to check mate the BJP government by appear to praise modi so as to forcibly change their attitutde towards muslims, and warned congress that muslims are no longer their votebanks just because they are anti BJP and will vote helplessly to congress, its like the class teacher(vastanvi)has made the most unruly student (modi)to monitor the class .and when the unruly is made to rule and modi knows that he is the one who is unruly and there will be no one to disturb the class and he has to act responsibly to maintain his power,so in the first phase he will reluctantly make peace and then in the next phase when all is peace ful, nonmuslims attitude will change towards muslims with the growth and prosperity at hand, andin the nethird phase all will be equal, and there is no bias towards muslim community,so what i think vastanvi has checkmated the traditional thinking of one of the sections of hindu community of india and to one extend the communal sections of gujarati hindus (hiqmat)
and at the end of the day muslims will prevail with reason and logic and then hindus will acknowledge with reason and logic to live with peace and leave partisan politics .

This is not to hate-monger, but the blunt fact is that, in today's world, many tenets of Islam & Sharia are are NOT acceptable in liberal and democratic societies! Inspite of all its faults, Democracy is the best way of running a country, society or a government and definitely not "God's" will as defined by a few clerics!
If a Muslim really wants to follow ISLAM as it was in the 7th century and as per what some puritan mullahs are advocating- he would have to give up his job, close his bank account, take his kids out of school, shut off TV & Internet, entirely change his food & attire habits, pick up a sword & wage war on infidels or start rearing goats & live in a tent in the desert! Ridiculous, is it not?
Sadly, Islam has been reduced to a list of dos and don’ts! Almost every month, there is an addition to what is forbidden to Muslims. It will end if and only when people decide that enough is enough, and that they do not want to live upto some lopsided morals & standards codified in the 7th century. Insular mullahs issue half-baked edicts on everything under the sun and ordinary people, unsure of themselves, pay lip service to such edicts. And if this kind of retrogressive mindset can now hold sway in relatively modern countries like India, Malaysia, Indonesia or Egypt, Just imagine the situation in nations like Saudi Arabia, Afghanistan, Sudan, Ethiopia and P
