How could someone commit such a crime... 75 yr old getting raped and killed... what could one do to live and die with dignity... Everyone talks about the right to do this and that, but what about right to live a safe and peaceful life?????? Hope neighbors and communities wake up and help each other live a safe life... Hope Police personnel realize the impact of their in-action and inefficiencies...

You are correct. The problem is that in India crime seems to pay -- the risk seems to be much less than the expected gains. Only when the risk for committing a crime becomes much more than the expected gain - then only there could be a reduction in crime. Death sentence is one of such risks which must be used - properly of course!!

This is not to hate-monger, but the blunt fact is that, in today's world, many tenets of Islam & Sharia are are NOT acceptable in civilized, liberal and democratic societies! Inspite of all its faults, Democracy is the best way of running a country, society or a government and definitely not "God's" will as defined by a few clerics or the fantasies of some 7th century goatherd!
