Oh India

Has this countryy come to this stage that when the powerful trample with contempt upon the weak, society looks on. Even worse, when the weak strike back, the government and society turn its might on the poor weakling.

If anyone here thinks that the politician is the victim of the crime, I pity you and the state of your mind.

Hope someone will start a fund or something for paying the legal fees of the lady who was courageous enough to stamp out the vermin. I believe she did what most of us, the armchair pundits, talk about. Truth is , we lack guts, She is a strong lady

Nitish should punish BJP
by Sanjeev Sharma on Jan 04, 2011 04:16 PM

Nitish should punish BJP workers who thrashed this lady severly. Earlier you did a good job by not allowing Narendra Modi in Bihar.

by mufaddal trunkwala on Jan 04, 2011 04:14 PM

A state honour to a Rapist??? this shows how our politicians are they have no respect for any citizen (Men or Women) i think wat Mrs.Pathak has done must be a last option she must have done to protect her intergrity and to get justice...

Shocking

Though it would be premature to comment on the incident, I think the circumstances in which a lady teacher is forced to do this crime, certainly put a question mark over the entire system and civil society. If her allegations are right, it can easily be established that her sheer dejection over denied justice compelled her to take this drastic step. if there was any other motive, again it puts a question mark over the values the children can derive out of such teachers. Now it seems,
ruling party is likely to keep no stone unturned to prove their late leader morally strong, but i am slightly worried about the justice which this lady would get. I request women activists and NGOs to come forward and give her a voice.

The Ultimate solution.
by Joseph Kawa on Jan 04, 2011 03:54 PM  | Hide replies

No one will dare to go to the extend Mrs Pathak went. When the people at power can do anything the desparation of te victim forces one to go to that extreme which is the last resort.

No faith in Law
by Anil Sinha on Jan 04, 2011 03:48 PM  | Hide replies

I note two things: 1) People seem to be loosing faith in the rule of law, especially in the police forces. 2) the state CM and the BJP are only interested in the politics of this issue. Even at this stage the CM is not showing ANY interest in probing the complaint of the woman. She stands condemned without trial.
