The only thing in the favour of these "students" is that the university was a fake one.
Had it been the other way around, nobody could have helped them.
These "students" did not need to get into this trouble.
They got into it because even if they were admitted into authentic universities, their chances of getting a student visa were slim to none.
By changing from work to student visa, they inadvertently create a situation of 'intent to immigrate'. This raises a flag with immigration authorities and their visa application is rejected.
The best option for them will be to move to Canada, work there and look for jobs in the US from there.
Hopefully, the immigration service won't black list them and they may be able to work in the US in the near future.
