There seems to be a perception that the Indian courts stood up to the rich and powerful and the foreigners, and defended the local and relatively weak Indians. This is misleading. The people that stood up for Binayak Sen are ordinary people defending justice. Binayak Sen himself stood up against a state sponsored system that denies basic support to the poorest and weakest of its people. Why? Because the rich corporations that want the lands and the jungles vacated forcibly, so as to extract the minerals, pay no compensation to either the country of the people living on that land - have managed to buy off both the politicians and the judiciary. It is the mining corporations that are having the last laugh, at the expense of the nation, its people, and especially the tribals who have no where else to go.

INDIAN POLICE AND ARMY LONG LIVE
INDIAN LAWS HAVE TO BE CHANGED ACCORDING TO NEW PREVAILING CIRCUMSTANCES IN THIS COUNTRY JUDICIARY SHOULD NOT SIT AND TALK LIKE A PARROT WATCHING AND ISSUING SERMONS . IT SHOULD GO AHEAD AND CHANGE THE ENTIRE GOVT FORMATION., LAWS ETC., OTHERWISE COUNTRY IS DOOMED

How does a flawed judgment based on faulty/inconclusive evidence and sometimes even ignores Supreme Court rulings affirm your faith in the judicial system. Do you have a response to this critique?

If we want to eradicate naxal we sohuld punish all hiden supporter like SEN.Recall Sanjay dutt was behind Bars just for keeping some arms .It is need of hour that an act like TADA should be inforced against naxals .
What a sad day for Indian democracy and judicial system? Dr. Sen gets life term for serving Tribals for 30 years and A. Raja & Karuna & Chavan , Manmohan having done so much corruption will not get even a month?
Judicial system acting like hitmen of State government is sad. Supreme court, no doubt, will turn this verdict but imagine the toll on the individual waiting in prison until he reaches supreme court?
What a justice system in India! Binayak Sen gets life term, no bail, just for being a maoist sympethiser. On the other the ULFA people including their chairman Arabinda Rajkhowa who have declared open war against the country, killed so many innocents, maintains their armed bases in foreign countries get heros welcome.
