India would have to buy a mix of Fighters right now maybe some squadrons of heavier FA/18 Superhornets and some squadrons of others and then buy T50/F35s later to form the mainstay.

LCA can form the bulk of the squadrons over the southern part of India whilst the more advanced Sukhois, Mirages, FA18s can be posted in the north for covering the threat from China and pakistan

friend, money can't make you number 1 in the world but it is intelligent brain, sincerity and true patriotism..

americans went to moon 40 years back.. u think it is because they had more money than others?

yes, innovation brings wealth but wealth does not bring innovation.. Saudi Arabia is the best example..

LCA is home built. HAL builds 60% fabrication for sukhoi aircraft which was a transfer of technology from the Russians. But India does all final assembly. All in all, the technology in airforce and satellite launching is impressive in India. Our company (name witheld) went to see extensive operations at HAL in Bangalore alone this year and it was mind boggling to see the technology grade India has today.

Slate to IAF they remain vigilant from any aerial attack from enemies. We are very shamful that we have corrupt leaders whose work is only to make money and do dirty things and drag country back and increase poverty in the country.

we sleep till the event
by R Balasubramanian on Feb 09, 2011 05:33 PM  | Hide replies

Its habbit of indians and the government to sleep till the event and complete the job in a hurry. Delhi Metro, CWG, Delhi Airport Terminal No.3., BIAL, etc., to name few. Now followed by unfinished Kolkata Cricket Stadium even after extention of time by ICC and now the current Air Show in Bengaluru.

Just few days to the show, the government woke up, pumped fund in giving face lift to the surrounding place and worked morning and night to give the place a make up look. Thanks to the Rain God, else, the show could have either got canceled or moved to other base. Even the Traffic police did not have wiseness to plan in advance the vehicle movement and put up necessary cautionary boards and also announce the same in print and electronic media for the public to take proper action to avoid discomfort. Due to their late decision, there is total chaos on the road and in particular for air travellers who have been put in to a lot of inconvenience, in addition to the distance of the airport from city limits.
Inspite of Defence Ministry informing well in advance the date of the event, is it not the bounden duty of the state government to keep ready the state for the event instead of troubling people.

It only reminds me of wise tale Hare and tortoise.

Yet we proudly say Spectacular achievement.

balas, bangaliore

Appears to be a frustrated aatma from some neighboring state. This frustration is primarily due to the uniqueness and successful organization of the high profile event at Bangalore and not in his home state. No road can be built with present technology which can comfortably handle around 1 lakh people at the same time. Chaos are bound to happen when such huge crowd arrives at one single entry point. The visitors also have to behave in a responsible manner and make some compromise from their side also, such as arriving at the venue slightly head of the rush hour. The state government is responsible for providing access to the venue, safety and security arrangements at venue and for the delegates and other basic facilities like power, etc and cannot be held responsible for chaos which people like bala make at the venue.

"Thanks to the Rain God, else, the show could have either got canceled or moved to other base??"

hahaa...wht a comment...how can the state govt. control rain??

Moreover u plan it or not - whn shows of this magnitude r happening there will b some traffic issues and other inconveniences, govt. cannot build a separate flyover for a 3 day event, right? There were announcements abt alternative routes to BIA frm police dept.

Further distance of airport from the city has nothin to do with planning of aero show at all!

I am not speaking in defence of the govt. but then pls stop cribbing for evrything!!
