The world can see the signals emanating from a rabidly Islamized Pakistan, where thousands of people come out on the strets and bay for the blood of non-believers & apostates. Saw how the ordinary Pakis ran to kiss, hug and congratulate Mumtaz Qadri, who killed Governor Taseer? Everyone knows the plight of even Islamic minorities like the Shias, Bohras, Aga Khanis or Ahmediyas in Pak, not to speak of the condition of Hindus & Sikhs. Sadly there are no moderate Muslims left in Pakistan. The liberals and intelligentsia are running for their lives. It has been irrevocably radicalized. And what flabbergasts me is that the Kashmiris or at least some of them still want to join Pakistan!!

Saw how the Talibanis wreaked havoc in Swat valley, flogging a young girl because she spoke to a boy from her neighborhood? Or how a 75 yr old woman in Saudi was ordered to be flogged for the sin of Khilwa, when her dead husband's nephew went to deliver her some bread For any Muslim to live by the Sharia would mean quitting his job, closing his bank accounts, avoiding housing loan, removing his kids from school, shutting of TV, Music, and graze goats for a living and live in a tent!

World cannot be ruled by just rules defined in a specific region. Shariat was good for middle east purely because of the times of lawlessness it provided some order in society. But it cannot and should not be generalized for the whole humanity. It cannot be rubbed on all.

I think he never tasted freedom of life. We live our live day-to-day as individuals but some people like to live like a bunch just for a secure feeling. Tufale is one of them. He should move from mono-cultured society which I guess he currently lives to multi-cultured society to experience that the religion is to make a man a human not make a society of thugs.

The blunt fact is that many tenets of Islam & Sharia as prescribed in the 7thCentury, are blatantly discriminatory, barbaric & cruel, immoral, absurd, foolish and cannot be accepted in any sane, liberal & democratic society. In spite of all its faults, DEMOCRACY is far superior to the rule of some clerics claiming divine interpretations of some imaginary God's will!

Will any Muslim living in a non-Sharia regime, voluntarily subject himself and his family to Sharia based punishment for any violations of the law? Many such people, serving their sentences in jail for different crimes would find their arms & legs amputated or find themselves stoned, flogged or executed.

I don't think majority of Muslim community given a choice between Sharia and Democracy choose Sharia in a Democratic country.
I am not sure what Saudi Arabia heartland gives the right to other religions to survive. If all the nations follow the same ideology then Muslim nation have to dig in shame .. for their self centered policieis.
