No complacence
by Ashwin on Feb 10, 2011 11:53 PM

Very correct. No complacence in India & Congress in particular. No complacence with any number of scams & any number of shameful acts. They still want many more, by the day. And no complacence with any amount of illgotten money. They want 1000 times more, every day.

NRIS have hard time living in india.
by manoj sharma on Feb 06, 2011 12:20 PM  | Hide replies

They get so used to living in US, enjoying world class traffic, road, system etc. When they come back to india. the crowd, pollution, and ego maniac attitude of people drive them crazy. its unbearbale to them. even though they would love to bring all their money back and start living in india. but they cant. they fall sick with food and unhygenic surroundings. their system become weak after livingin in US. also the hot weather. violance and greed every where. but may be after 10-20 years when there is enough infrastructure, there is discipline on street. These NRIs will definetly be back. One NRI really cried to me. he said my heart is always in india. all i need is good space like US to run buisness and i will come back home running.

Well, staying in China for last eight years,I face the same situation when I reach India every time.

The worst thing I find is the road conditions, dirty restaurent, argumentative and egoistic approach of the people,no rules,no disciplines, what not...

Recently when I was in india, had to travel by bus for six hours as the program was sudden and I could not get a flight to that destination.Secondly,I wanted to see how normal people travel thru ordinary bus.

I with my family entered into the bus and sat in empty seats towards the rear side. This is because the ticket is so small and unreadable and I did not notice any ticket number.

After bus started, the conductor came and he was a kind person. He said you people have reserved seat in the bus, your numbers so and so,so you please go ahead and sit in the front rows.

I said ok,and travelled towards the front side. Here some altercations happed.Questions asked by the occupants:

1)Did you pay bribe to the conductor?

2)When did you get the reservation?Today or before?

3)Why did you not check the ticket numbers before?

4)You must shift the luggage also to this side.

Lot of arguments.I was fed up.My family was fed up.Atlast,I told, look I am an NRI and I rarely travel in bus,I donot know the rules,I apologise.Still they continued.

This changing seat became a big matter of ego for them.I felt as if I had done a big crime! This is skewed mentality which lacks politeness and compassion..

I really think when it comes to india all people have it to complain about. i mean whose fisrt time experience in a cheap way of transport in a different country is full of surprises plus people coming from abroad tend to ignore the fact that population in india is much more compared to facilities provided and still people find a way to work through it in this case people dont go by seat number or reservation . my first time experience in us was i took
a bus from florida to atlanta georgia and night time journey it had been few months since i cam to us as a student and after the first stop 15 - 20 minutes were fine and then a lady yelled one seat ahead of me saying you are not my boyfriend since it was dark in bus then bus stopped
the man had his pants down and was sitting next to the lady after since the first stop, so the lady was also having fun till she realised. now talk about inconveniences i carried only one dollar bills , 5s and 20s no change or coins since i did not now and that time i did not know how wending machine worked i was thirsty went to wending machine to grab a snapple after few minutes i found how to put in one dollar bill and pressed the button nothing happened asked the security guy next to it he stared at me tried to reach to a person or two they all ignored me and went by i gave up and took a seat i had my eye on the vending machine since i was very thirsty ,in a few minutes a guy who was watching me put 2 quarters & got the drink.stop
