Senso
You just wanted your brothers and sisters in TN to die from Thane, after you expressed ur frustration abt a Tamilian being proud of being a Tamilian.
Dude..... brothers and sisters dont fight over allowing water to TN ??

Anyway...you can vent ur anger against Tamils in whatever way you want......, I am still proud to be a Tamilian. And Iam proud to be an Indian.

dont let rain water stagnate on the roof
by joseph george on Dec 30, 2011 05:14 AM

as last time lot of buildings fell as huge quantity of water on the roof made whole building to collapse. unfortunately this did not even make news whereas actress childbirth also makes news. another bulletin may be usefull also The bulletin said storm surge of about one meter height above the astronomical tide would inundate the low lying areas in Chennai, Tiruvallur, Kanchipuram and Villupuram districts of north Tamil Nadu at the time of landfall. Sea condition would be very rough and it would gradually become very high to phenomenal along and off north Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and south Andhra Pradesh coasts. Fishermen along north Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and south Andhra Pradesh coasts were advised not to venture into the sea during the next 48 hrs.

Is this an article for AP only or for the entire South?
by Ramasamy Nagarajan on Dec 30, 2011 04:28 AM  | Hide replies

Rediff is stating everything about the preparedness to face Thane by AP Govt. Why can't you say globally for the entire region, likely to be affected? The preparedness of TN and Puducherry also could be stated with due warning as given by the the Metrological depts of the region? The cyclone and Tsunami are the periodical happening from the time immemorial, (pl see the Old Tamil Epics Silappadhikaram, Manimekalai) in which a lot of references are available. WHy not the Govts Central and litttoral States (TN, AP, Orissa and WB...)form a permanent machinery to forecast the disasters and get prepared fully every year withou t loss of life and properties? What is the NAtional Disaster Management Committee is doing?

I partly agree with you. though most likely its just ignorance of rediff. Thanks a lot for the information which appears as if our Dr.Ramanan of Chennai Metrological Centre gives the details. Since I left TN just on 28th Dec to the North on the same day, I am really concerned about the Thane. Thanks a lot once more.

Hope there is no severe damages...
by indian on Dec 29, 2011 09:52 PM  | Hide replies

At this point of time (10 PM) at Chennai, its hardly raining since morning. There are surface winds with max speed of 40 to 50 kms..

Since the cyclone is about 150 Kms, its might prediction that it may not rain heavy, though wind pressure might slightly increase from cyclone eye cross the land.

Indian navy treats tamil or hindi people and all Indians same. Though its mighty its primary purpose is not to rescue civilians and its not equipped well enough to be that dynamic given our economic constraints and our politicians apathy and greed
