A religious scripture is a sacred book of not only the community that follows it but for the rest of mankind.
Authoorities in Russia will take a note of it. By the way it has become a global culture to use abusive and insulting language towards the followers of other religion.
Website abusing Islam@Muslims are in galore and the best way to handle such nuisance is to ignore it and use political clout to arrest this trend.
It seems that Russia has done considering the thinking of Amul baby. As we know as per Amul Baby, India has munch thrate from Hindu terror then Inslamic Terror. so only Amul baby is responsible for this.
There was this guy who always used to say "Gita says"..... People thought he was very much learned and well versed about Gita. It finally turned out that Gita was his wife
Reasons: 1) Outcry is not because a group of people have opposed Geeta; the way author exemplifies Salman Rushdie and Tasleema Ansari, whose views about Quran are their views. Similarly I don't mind a couple of people not reading Geeta or rejecting it. This is there view. I have no problem. The problem is when a 'state' bans a book considered more than life for a number of people all over the world without any reason. I would have the same problems if it was Quran or Bible in place of Geeta. 2) This point extends even further than the first point. Nobody actually challenged Geeta in russia and Indian media just made a mountain out of a mole. It was the russian translation - "Bhagwad Geeta as it is" - that was projected to be banned because along with Bhagwad Geeta, the translator mixed his extremist point of view. If you use google translator itself, you will realize that it is not the Geeta taught in schools and temples in India.

Even if we know for sure that ISKCON got the translation and commentary wrong, how is the ban on the book justified??!!!! There are multiple and diametrically opposite translations and commentaries of all religiousBooks as per the authors' whims and fancies. Are they also banned just because they are incorrect??

Rahul I disagree to some extent with you. Salamn has used extremely abusive language about the wife of ProphetPBUH.Can we imagine the pious ladies of any religion to be called as a WhoreAnd give her physical features and her responseonBED. This was beyond personal opinion and it was a deliberate attempt to injure the feelings.
Tasleema's Lajja was a bad piece of literature but the truth was there. She had opposed the vandilation of Mandir in reponse to BabriMasjidDemolitiuon. This is perfectly justified as one act of madness should not be followed by another act of madness. I support Tasleema for all the choicest word that she used to criticise the Mullas who had incited the reaction in Bangladesh.
hardly indian read Geeta and try to find their life in Geeta and how to act. do karma without attachement. its just another enjoyment like cricket or diwali.

you cannot force anyone to read a book. but similarly none can force you not to read a book when you want to and their is nothing wrong with the book.

There is no point in banning any religious book. We should never be hurt by the persons of other religions criticizing or debating particular religious books. Some religious fanatics are so intolerant of their holy books being criticized that they pass a law to kill them. This shows that their particular religion is in jeopardy. For a person of true faith it should not make any difference if others criticize their books. The all powerful God,The creator of this universe, is able to defend for himself as he doesn't need us to fight for him.

Absolutely correct. If they are ignored then they will not get popularity. Just because we react to such situations and make them a world ronowned literay figure or cartoonist. This encourages others to follow the suit.
I fully agree with you and feel that instead of reacting and demonstrating the issue should be handled at political and economic level to curb the nuisance.
Like sweden lost considerable business in middle east after the cartoon episode. The economic crunch forced Swedan to take appropriate action to arrest this trend which was followed by other countries as well.
The standards of rediff journalism can get so low. Here a person is trying to compare Gita with third class literatures of third class writers. I bet this writer donot even now what is written in Gita. I have never studied Gita, but I have studied summary. Its clear from summary that how great this whole book can be. More-ever this Gita doesnot belong to any religion it belongs to mankind. It belongs to those who believe in Karma

How can you call a literature third class? That piece of literature is somebody's point of view. How can you possibly say that his point of view is third class? you are an inhuman egoist fanatic.

this what he is trying to make you understand idiot.point of view is generated by your thoughts and feelings about the things around you parents, books, religion, culture and much more which you perceive and develops in ur attitude and thats why people should make comments carefully when its about ur parents, religion or faith in bhagvat geeta.

Based on your first name (girlish first name) this question is valid. However, based on your second name, this question is invalid. I am confused what to answer.
