A soldier awaits the first day of battlef in the same way
by Vishnu Sharma on Dec 19, 2011 06:48 AM

A man who just got married awaits the first night.

Both define his future life.

War is life, and life is war, the youth need to be trained in a wholesome manner to wage it with ferocity and tenacity.

We need to inculcate the warrior spirit in our youth and make them tough and resilient.

Nothing prepares a man for life like the baptism by fire: Feurtaufe

I enjoin everyone who reads my post to watch
Feurtaufe on youtube.

Thanks to coward, minority appeasing Con party Indian soldiers will never be "lucky"!

Con party and its foreign leader are dismantling Indian defenses by making them lethargic and redundant!

BRAVE SOLDIERS
by jogendra sinh on Dec 16, 2011 09:25 PM

Yes Sir, We are a privileged lot who has the honour of serving our nation. I served in the infantry Battalion ( 5 Gorkha Rifles(FF), as a 2nd Lieut in 1965 ( Jaurian ) as a Major in 1971 ( Longewala ), as a Major in Nagaland 1979 as a CO(Lieut Col) in BLUE STAR and a Brigadier in the Valley in 1992. At every step I realized that our Rank & File are worth their weight in Gold. Napoleon once said, " one does not mature till you hear the music of the Bullets" (or words to that effect. Indian Soldiers remember we are the best.

And these brave soldiers have to beg now!
by shashi kadapa on Dec 16, 2011 09:03 PM

The heroic sacrifices and gallantry shown by our brave soldiers brought tears to my eyes. Look at them, they died in glory, but for what?
So that they can beg for parity in wages and pension?
To see our India rent by scams, corruption and what not.
Very shameful that we live in such wretched times..

Publish these articles too frequently

Instead of the rotten politicians and dress-misery actresses, please publish such heroic articles in the Rediff too frequently. Let the generations know how great we are and how our solders sacrificed for the Nation. Ultimately what for? Let the readers decide.

Indians are proud of its soldiers
by uday shankar on Dec 16, 2011 06:52 PM

but Indians do not include its ruling Govt politicians. Sacrifices made by our dear soldiers, life's lost, is all soon forgotten and battle gains compromised for political gains. Was a child at Vizag, HQ of Eastern Naval Comand during that war. This place became historic when a Paki sub was gunned down and the US seventh fleet tried to reach there to help Pak. Our soldiers won the battle even before the US fleet could reach. If as a civilian I can be proud of those glorious moments, one can imagine the memories a soldier holds so dear to his heart. I bow to the pride of the Indian defence forces; the real guardians as we sleep in peace with our families, guarding our borders. Hats off dear ones. How true is "BT you and me are lucky soldiers, only lucky soldiers see war and luckier ones get challenging tasks, succeed, survive and their contribution is recognised by the service and the nation." How very true!!.
