Strange you ask a religious question and expect it to be answered without religion :). Btw , we H1ndus have been taught to bow ,pray,respect every Saint , every elder so if Sai baba was nice to us in return we pray .Now the question of your last soul not being ok with us is that he taught you never pray anyone else other than HIM .Now that is against our way of thinking , dont get into who is right or wrong but it is against our basic nature to only pray obey only one person.

Basically why you are questioning others beliefs and Why you saying others how they have to worship that is the a basic problem with you guys
Our way of practicing religion is something odd. We always do prayers for receiving something from Bhagwan. But don't try to become onself good enough in not harming others. Why would Bhagwan give something to someone is not trying to become good for others such as helpless people, animals and insects.
I don't believe such Baghwans not trying to make people good by asking them to generate kindness, compassion and love for the others.
Therefore, people just make too much shouts, chantings in Mandirs just to make Baghwan please and give them something as rewards.
Let this post be non-controversial & please do not insult anyone.
I am no devotee of Sai Babas, Shirdi Sai or Sathya Sai, but I have great respect for both of them, Shirdi Sai for his preachings & Sathya Sai for his deeds.
However, when one looks at it with a larger perspective, one realises that the Supreme Lord alone can save a soul. Some say that there should be a mediator between God and us, which is fulfilled by these great souls.
Lord Krishna, in the 66th Verse of Srimad Bhagavad Gita asks Arjuna,
"Abandon all varieties of religion and just surrender unto Me. I shall deliver you from all sinful reaction. Do not fear".
One may think that unless he is free from all sinful reactions he cannot take to the surrendering process. To such doubts it is here said that even if one is not free from all sinful reactions, simply by the process of surrendering to Sri Krishna he is automatically freed. There is no need of strenuous effort to free oneself from sinful reactions. One should unhesitatingly accept Krishna as the supreme savior of all living entities. With faith & love, one should surrender unto Him.
The foregone not withstanding, Lord also says, "I am in everyone's heart as the Super soul. As soon as one desires to worship the demigods, I make his faith steady so that he can devote himself to some particular deity".
So enjoy worshiping Sai Baba, because, you are worshiping God only through him. After all, all worships re

Who said Chinese dont have superstition. I agree with you our people here over do it or probably get influenced too much.
But end of the day if you look from a perspective, Its belief that keeps the humanity going. It gives some self confidence into person who feel insecured.
May be you are abundance of confidence, but dont abuse who are weak.
You should ideally blast the ppl who use these belief among the mass to influence or instigate trouble. Not the one who believe
