A Mari (AMRI) Institution
by abarna banerjee on Dec 13, 2011 01:58 AM

The step WB govt. has taken so far really deserves appreciation& admiration. Chief Ministers' gutsy step once again proves Indi a still has a leader who loves people not the PARTY. But one more request (perhaps it has already been done) the bank accounts properties & all other finances connected with the Culprits should be confiscated. And the damages should also add the money each & every one of the dead has paid towards the fees & other ancillary expenses for treatment should also be paid back from the accounts of all those responsible for this incident.

Directors of AMRI should be set free...
by jaggu on Dec 12, 2011 07:30 PM

1) They are only donours and promoters.
2) Managerial & regular staff is responsible for negligence.
3)Our PM ( MMS ) was never arrested for all the scams of his cabinet - so this is unprecedented.

Boss, R u out of ur mind? No wonder we Indians are emotional idiots. There is a lot of difference between an accident due to negligence and sabotage or burning people alive? Why do you need to bring politics in such a sad news where about 93 people had lost their lives through grave negligence. You mean the CM of Bengal ordered the fire brigand or police not to take action and allowed the people to die in smoke. Be an Indian rather than a political a$$ l1cker. By the way, I am not for or against any political party

He is correct on two counts :
1) Negligence of fire rules in AMRI was similar to that in 5 other top Delhi hospitals such as AIIMS- then why not arrest their Directors too?
2) When anyone dies in Gujarat < Modi is guilty withou proof what about all other states , UT sand central Govt?

THis will happen here again and again, because we indians only blame. Even if see something wrong we just ignore and leave it. But when it comes to blaming, we are all number one.

Govt. shouldn't let them go.
by arup mukherjee on Dec 12, 2011 10:36 AM  | Hide replies

The owners are criminals. They shouldn't get bail, due to their negligence so man precious life were lost. How can they compensate ? I am sure they will come out clean after few months and people will forget this tragedy. Jiska loss hua woh sochega . This is possible only in INDIA. Owners entire black money should be taken out and needs to be distributed among the affected mass. I personally visited that AMRI, where at times the air conditioning system was not working and even visitors can feel the suffocation. Think about the patients. It's high time that Govt. should take appropriate measure so that these murderers can be punished.

What about the ministers, officers and authorities of the various departments of the WB government whose negligence in implementing critical healthcare laws also contributed to the tragedy. They are equally responsible and should not be allowed to go scotfree.

ADG Fire Services said, if proper fire fighting arrangements exis
by suchet bal on Dec 10, 2011 10:44 AM  | Hide replies

ADG Fire Services said, if proper fire fighting arrangements existed at the hospital, such a blaze could not have taken place.

Fire Department is supposed to make it compulsary for the Land Lords to install proper Fire Extinguishing Equipments in their buildings and ensure it.

But they would have passed the building as Fit and are now blaming others.

The authorities cannot escape the blame for keeping their eyes closed to the safety violations mostly due c0rrupt practices.
How unfortunate! The place which should give life has taken 100 lives!!!
Its basically bcoz we have very poor safety culture. we r reactive in safety approach-we react when something drastically goes wrong. Now ,for some time there will be ripples n afterwards everything come to normal as if nothing happened.
1.why the space meant for parking was used as godown without proper risk assessment?
2.why fire deptt didnot make inspections n pointed out the lacuna in the safety system?
3. It is c_r1mnal act on the part of hospital management to not have been identify the risks in its premises therefore c_r1m1nal proceedings be initiated against the maangement
4. The safety enforcement agencies be also be dismissed for lack of control on the premises in its jurisdiction
