Lokpal & Corruption
by raj on Aug 27, 2011 12:48 PM

In 1998, Argentina was a rich and successful country on a tremendous growth path. There was prosperity and less than 3% unemployment. Then a bill similar to Lokpal Bill was introduced called the Public Accountability Bill (Rendición Pública de Cuentas) at the behest of some people wanting an extra constitutional control over the government. There were frivolous complaints, officials were charge sheeted, and the Bill became a tool for harassment in the hands of unaccountable persons. The result was that officials became
scared to take decisions, projects were held up and the government lost credibility.
The govt. handed major departments to pvt sector which, in the absence of any check,
started minting money at the cost of public good. The economy of Argentina collapsed,
exports stopped, there was runaway inflation, and the country plunged into poverty with 50%
unemployment. So if u want the economic progress of India to continue and prevent a collapse in India, oppose the Lokpal Bill. Long live democracy, long live India.

Electoral reforms are highly needed to curb the corruption
by Krishna AryaBharat on Aug 26, 2011 10:44 PM

No on can deny the fact that corruption should be eliminated at every level. People are joining 'Team Anna' in thousands to give their support for this cause. Genuniely, they are less bothered about the Lokpal or JanLokpal etc. They only want to eradicate the corruption from scoial & political as well as one which they are facing in their daily to daily lives. But I feel that the issue is genuine, but the way is wrong.
Because we are now challeging the democratic structure. The pariamentarians may be corrupt, but if they are there, it is only due to either there is loopholes in electoral process or you have choosen the wrong candidate. So we need to check ourselves first and then second there is a great need of electoral reform. Our constitution provides very balanced prvision among parliament and judiciary. So there is no need to bring any more agency like Lokpal or etc. It's my message to Team Anna & like people that if you are really concerned about the corruption then don't behave like dicatator. You have raised one issue i.e. corruption and people are now expecting that you should move to some other issues like electoral reforms.

This movement

Every young people of this movement has been affected in every field either education or forien travel or any simple thing odf day to day life at the hands of the lower burocracy. That is why this mass movement. Government cannot ignore that. a constitution was drafted few decades ago when the writers would never had thought that unscrupless people get elected by fradulant menas and use the law to their advantage. Today a petition chalenging the election of a person get the verdict only after the end of teh session of the parliment or assembly. such is the whole sytem corrupt. every selection has hand of this dirty politicans hand and no PSU work effeciently. what is the basic cause of all these. Ven our PM is a back door entry man. Congress want to be in power and so they projected MMS as PM. A leader of teh cabinet who says I am perfect and honest and I cannot control my collegues because of political compulsion. Why the hell you stick on to the position. please get out if you cannot lead and decide things. The whole episode of anna was mis handled by the government. They gave a lot of hope to the team by having a committee and finaly cheated them. Now it took ten days for a PM to understand the mood of nation. and when everything was coming to a shape the joker rahul who was keeping quite (running behind huts) says some nonsense. he only added fuel to the diminishing fire of teh agitation. the whole handling is ineffeciency of government and handled by chmachas.

Dr.Jai Prakash is a Man of Ideas and Enormous Experience
by Al Ringer on Aug 26, 2011 09:54 PM

I have followed the work of Dr.Jaiprakash Narayan for the past 10 years. He is a very smart man. He can also articulate complex ideas in simple terms for common man to understand. Undoubtedly he is a clear thinker.

JP as he is popularly called, can be a valuable addition to Team Anna. This guy as enormous administrative experience to tell what will work, what will not work and how to make it work.

JP has lot of good ideas but unfortunately he does not have the political support needed to make a big impact. He started his political party but did not do well in elections. His party is not funded well. He really cannot fight elections against Congress or BJP. He just does not have that kind of money to throw at elections.

Team Anna should seriously took at him to use him in an effective way.
