My salutation to the real Hero! As is said "Beauty lies in the beholder`s eye". Likewise, "your supreme sacrifice shall lie in hearts of those who cherish values". Our country is surviving because of these few.
In death there ain't no sorrow... for u brave young man fell down facing a hail of bullets smack on ; not akin to a tear drop shed in silence ! There are instances when most of us have scraped through such skirmishes unscathed but some like u r destined for glory! As an ex-infantryman my chest swells with pride when ever v hear about young guns like you carrying forward the baton in spite of overwhelming odds.Kudos boy!The poignantly moving piece penned down by sarvar bail most definitively pays due eulogy to the ultimate sacrifice made by a soldier and the farcical nature of our corrupt powers to be or for that matter of fact the lack of iron in the city bred youth but ironically none of us have paused to mention the lives laid down by many a soldiers who have died unsung since the first bullet was fired in J & K's low intensity conflict! We have only paid homage to registered heroes whose citations have been accorded an award in the past 05 wars including Kargil but it's time that we remembered the umpteen unsung heroes whose death in the battlefield has not got noticed or been reduced to an obituary published by the concerned battalion or the family. We in fact have lost more soldiers in the insurgency campaigns from op-vijay to varied op-rakshaksks on varied fronts/states in India and abroad then in all wars put together. This republic day let us pay homage to all of those valiant guys who chose death to protect our tomorrow!

Mr. Bali your article brought tears to my eyes.Navdeep Singh is a hero in our hearts. But than I think how many Navdeeps we have deliberately sacrificed because people in power prevent induction of required equipments to fight this kind of war. It is not that we have dirth of money to provide the latest arms and equipments to our brave hearts. Simplest clearance from ministry takes decades and always mired in controversies because of greed and open corruption. Most of equipment in use is old and obselete, putting our boys at unwarranted risks.
