corruption bill
by anju verma on Aug 20, 2011 11:51 AM  | Hide replies

Corruption wont stop with the passing of a bill, it can only stop when WE THE PEOPLE stop accepting it....Otherwise this bill is a fraud, and will remain like any other anti corruption bill.

Lokpal bill vs Jan lokpal bill
by JOSEPH DEVASSY on Aug 19, 2011 10:27 PM  | Hide replies

For quite long time successive governments have failed to frame and pass a strong lokpal bill that would have cleansed Indian politics. No party, including the main opposition party can abstain from the blame. Notwithstanding the opportunistic politics they play now, no politician of this country supports a strong lokpal bill.
If crowd strength can legislate laws in Indian democracy, do we need parliament and parliamentarians? How can Anna Team can impose terms on parliament and parliamentarians who are suppose to deliberate and pass laws that best suit to the country? Why don't the Anna Team can wait until the Lokpal bill is discussed in parliament and come into a conclusion?
To root out corruption, cohesive effort of every Indian is essential. It is time to introspect whether we are involved in corrupt practices. Our selfishness is the primary cause of spreading corruption. How many of them gathered at Ramleela Maidan can assert from their heart that they have never bribed ???

Some people who attended Anna's birthday party were very impressed by the great food served and the party really rocked they say.

Thank goodness Anna has many donors otherwise my friends may not have been able to attend such a lavish birthday party :-)

Annaji please do not be adamant
by Sirisha K on Aug 19, 2011 10:00 PM  | Hide replies

Its good to see that many people are coming out and asking Annaji to talk to government and sort out issues rather than being adamant on his view. Everybody respects Anna but he must understand the need of the hour. We want strong anti corruption bill but certainly not at the cost of our country's security. Nandan Nilekani openly said this and many other intellectuals are saying so. I hope Annaji listens to it and obliges.

results are there to see
by JaiAnnaHazare on Aug 19, 2011 09:55 PM

the very positive signs of this movement are already evident ... first kalmadi, shahid balwa and Raja are not released from jails and courts are prosecuting them...if not for this movement they would have been roaming freely ..looting us

on grassroots level people are thinking now ... many of my friends are saying that they would prefer to spend time in lockup rather than pay bribes to traffic police ... man thats a sea change in attitude...these small steps will some day help us take that leap ... nothing comes out of skies...these sincere efforts are enough to start...

I really appreciate Public support Anna has got in his drive against corruption.this has given hope to people like me that conscience of a commomn man is not dead yet.unfortunately congress government is not learning from its mistakes.this movement should also serve a warning to BJP and RSS like forces which pollute the mind of people for their political gain that you cannot make a fool of people anymore by raising ridiculous and irrelevant issues .RSS and BJP like organization which so far directly or indirectly abuses Mahatma Gandhi of appeasement and disown his ideology should learn from this movement. All those who criticize mahatma can now see it is the same Gandhian ideology which can still bring a revolution in our country.People sees Mahatma Gandhi in Anna Hazare and That is the basic reason of such a mass support of this movement. It is the Gandhi`s ideology which still has the power to wake the conscience of a common Indian .It should serve as a lesson for all those forces who wants to disintegrate our country in the name of religion that hatred and violence was never a solution for any country`s problems.fundamentalism of any kind is never good for any civilisation.BJP can change history books in their governed states, can make Savarker a hero and Gandhi a villain but they can`t change the truth.it is the Gandhi who even after more than 60 years of his death has the power to bring a revolution in this country.BJP and RSS will surely learn a lesson from this

Gandhi/Nehru's misdeeds have been hushed up very well by the JNU historians appointed by the Dongress after independence.Strict instructions were given to them to highlight only the work done by so calledDongress leaders like Gandhi/Nehru while heroes like Bose were made to look like pygmies in front of these crooks. The trend continues even nOw with whole books dedicated to Gandi/NehruBut only some paragraphs being allocated to Great heroes like BoseAndSavarkar.Another glaring mistake of these books are the way they secularised theMughalsBasedOnInstructions fromDongress andRomanticised their rule calling it the glorious/Golden era while great Kings likeChandraguptaMAurya were relegated to backpages.Truth will always come out one day and DongressWillRealise it very soon when a new wave of Truth will hit masses and all the Psudo heroes will be exposed and allJNUSickularMaterial will be burned down.
