Why this Government did not impeach the ex chief justice of India
by Kamal on Aug 17, 2011 02:44 PM

He concealed the fact on 2G tainted Raja's case of threatening or influencing Madras High Court Judge, Justice Raghupathy. Also on the case of accumulating disproportionate asset.

Impeachment is a big legal hoax!
by Pankaj Kumar on Aug 17, 2011 01:50 PM

Indian judicial system is one of the most corrupt. There is no accountability in judicial system. This "ipeachment", which M. R. Madhavan talks about is a big legal hoax with zero results. One third of the judges and justices are fit to be in jails.

Two Third Majority Impeachment should be Annuled
by Praveen Goud on Aug 17, 2011 12:21 PM

Let the jurists face the law as the citizens. Unless, the jurists face the law as normal citizens, how would he percieve the laws and its enforcement with percieved consequences.

Why do we need to have this sort of looping and deliberately delaying tactics to protect corrupt jurists?. Is that, to protect politicians and bureaucrats in return for jurists protection for their misdeeds?.

Two third majority to impeach a jurist who is corrupt?. If there is no two third majority, shall we allow a corrupt jurist escape the law?.

Removal of justice
by arungopal agarwal on Aug 17, 2011 10:37 AM  | Hide replies

Joke of judiciary, actually judiciary is one of the most corrupt link at lower courts, actually speaking right to appeal in higher court must be snatched from all govt. deptts, and govt. related agencies, this should only be with individuals. Majority of civil cases are fought by govt. only after defeat in lower courts, this will improve the working of lower courts, restore confidence of people and will give lesson to govt. to be serious and save public money from litigations.

So, how lokpal is going to solve this problem. I don't see any better process than this to ensure the independence of judiciary and its accountability to people through parliament.

Pleas explain how Lokpal is going to take fair action in this scenario?

do congressi care? why wold they? they are the ones most corrupt. there is something inherently appalling about the idea of congressia wanting to fix the corruption problem. it is like a snake wanting to treat you for snake bite.

Do you know snake venom is the only remedy for a snake bite. It is the anti-venom created by using the snake venom that is used to treat patients of snake bite.

but snakes are not the ones to treat; well educated and trained physicians, who study the snake venom, do that job, right? surely, we can study congressi corruption to stop it. btw, subramanian swamy is one such person who has done it, and has detailed it in his book on 2g.
