Jyoti Basu is responsible for these situations
by Dipak Bose on Oct 07, 2011 12:22 PM

When Jyoti Basu became the CM in 1977, people expected him to go after the killers, the members of the Youth Congress during the reign of Siddartha Sankaer Roy, during which at least 4000 were killed and 80,000 were kept in prison and beaten up.

However, no action was taken against the Youth Congress and the police officers who murdered these people during 1970-1977, particularly during the Emergency Rule of Indira Gandhi.
Those thugs of Youth Congress today are the leaders of the Trinamul Congress, and they have started again their murderous activities with the support of Mamata Banerjee.

Ever hear of Reconciliation ?
by Dev Gupta on Aug 12, 2011 09:12 PM  | Hide replies

After the Apartheid regime came down in So. Africa and Nelson madela took over he could have easily ordered judicial proceedings and follow up ( including imprisonment and perhaps even execution ) of the white Apartheid leaders. But even though Mandela himself had suffered greatlya t the hands of the Apartheid regime, he did no such thing. Instead he started Reconciliation and in the long term that is what has put So. Africa into the path of progress.

Bengalis claim themselves to be civilized. What good will come if the Party in power uses judicial procedings to kill those who lost it ? We are all Bengalis after all !

The root case of why some Bengalis became Communist and started following the violent ways of Chinese Communists ( mao etc ) is that they had lost all property and hope at the Partition and lack of any rehabilitation by Delhi afterwards.

That root cause needs to be addressed not suppress genuine grievance by judicial killings !

I fully agree - this is simply political vendetta. Mass murderer Sushanta Ghosh is behind the bar, justice done. Now get on with it. WB is completely bankrupt. No more political vendetta - it will further polarize the state.
Let me point out that WB lost its pole position from the top industrialized states in India to relative oblivion because of political upheaval, similar to what is happening to Hyderabad now for Telengana. Bengal fell prey to reactionary Commie rule for violence, it will hit back again if more violence occurs. Violence will encourage more violence.
"An eye for an eye makes the world blind". Please get on with life folks, no political vendetta, please!

Rightly said! But are the "dadas" & "didis" of the ruling party by any means concerned about the state's banrupcy or the loss of it's pole position among the top industrialised states???People of the state voted for a "Change".The change is not a miracle! It should come from within. It is lamenting to say that "what Bengal thinks today...India dare not to think tomorrow!

Propaganda is more powerful than judicial or extra-judicial killings. TMC should remember that. I just hope that didi, who is a very well-known madwoman, keeps herself together and takes the right decisions.

I agree. We need super fast court to deliver the verdicts against these ex-Ministers and MLA'S. More you linger this issue, the more doubts will arise in the minds of AAM ADMIS, about your sincerity and your capacity to the jobs, as per public demand.
