Indians don't have a sense of humour and can't laugh on themselves! I am talking about an average Indian not the comedy show actors.

It is inadequte appreciation of English usage Feroze
by D goel on Aug 14, 2011 04:12 PM

D. Goelpkl. afternoon 4.10pm, Sunday,August 13, 2011
Mr Feroze has highlighted several odd antithethtical assertions relating to our contemporary indian lives. It is usual his cleverness to make a seeming paradox by reporting half -filled Glass to be either empty or about to be full.
Largely sexual signification of like -entering from Behind- etcetera is due to poor shop-keeper's little knowledge of English expressions.Itis entirely unintended consequence of using Signs in English for marketing-D. Goel

A few days back there was yet another faux pas from our (ha ha) External Affairs Minister S M Krishna (he should actually be my Internal Affairs Minister at the rate at which he tickles me inside and out.

(Any way this guy -- better to spell it gai, S M Krishna ) got confused about an octogenarian Pakistani doctor lodged in Ajmer jail, saying the Government of Pakistan must consider his release on humanitarian grounds.

When all the time that octo has been languishing in our jail, Krishna responded -- during the Question Hour in the Parliament -- stating that this "particular person" was detained in Pakistan and it was a question to be considered by the government of that country on "humanitarian grounds"!!!

How do such gunks run our govt and intimidate us when we suggest a Lokpal Bill they water it down and present it aa a Joke, pal, bill to other MPs.

Indians get lost in drama.
by bihari babu on Aug 14, 2011 12:09 PM

I remember when internet was new in india. no body knew what the hell it is. that time Shammi kapoor made it popular. he was truly a visionary, he knew indian need technology, sonner the better.
His acting was good. though he was too much into dancing and drama which i dont like. i like movie with simple reality of life. no over acting or over drama. that agitates your mind. movie or songs with simple reality of life does not take you in fantasy. they leave your mind to live in present moment. Awarness is biggest thing. do not loose it at any cost. unconcious living is real hell.

What is interesting is that India is one inspite of all the dichotomy and inspite of all the politicians.

we indians have long way to go to catchup with civility.
education and eradication of poverty can only change our thinking and habits. change is not meant to happen tomorrow or day after, its a long haul.

What rubbish?

"India is also a funny country, where its people do have a sense of humour... 'CHILD BEAR' (instead of Chilled beer), 'ANUS OPTICIAN' (instead of Anu's optician), 'ENTRY FROM BACKSIDE ONLY' (I assume the front door was closed) and many more."

-- This is merely illiteracy at its funniest or dim-witted attempts at English... nothing to do with sense of humour. Sense of humour shows when you are able to laugh at yourself... We Indians take ourselves too seriously...

Indian have sense of humour and are ego maniac.
by bihari babu on Aug 08, 2011 02:34 AM

If you talk to NRIs or foreigners. there gentle, honesty and appreciation for things will touch you. if you talk to indian. he is always giving ego maniac talk. that make him ugly. ego is dirty. thats reason india atracts least amount of tourists from the world. foreigners dont like ego maniace talk.
Example. a tourist said. the taxiwala was bragging. we invented zero, made taj mahal, we are greatest culture. and same taxi wala took him purposly longer route and charged him 3 times. the tourist said if this is the way indian are. then here is my finger to india. you see the ugliness of people. we should try to learn. since we gave spirituality to the world.

There was another article saying how millions of Indians are living in squalor in near famine. Sense of humor indeed! Sorry rediff - this is a stupid article. Indian sense of humour is limited, also India is not a friendly country at all. The huge pressure of the population and exploding poverty take away all the sense of humour. The tolerance levels are high because of the extreme conditions many live in. In India it is a stiff fight for survival.
"It has many religious extremists, but also the most number of tolerant people." Nice!
