Praying in one direction, the direction towards the Kaaba, is traditionally considered to be symbol of the unity of all Muslims worldwide under the law of God. To grow this feeling of brotherhood into the minds is why this rule was introduced.

Ch 2 V 255. Allah. There is no god but He,-the Living, the Self-subsisting, Eternal. No slumber can seize Him nor sleep. His are all things in the heavens and on earth. Who is there can intercede in His presence except as He permitteth? He knoweth what (appeareth to His creatures as) before or after or behind them. Nor shall they compass aught of His knowledge except as He willeth. His Throne doth extend over the heavens and the earth, and He feeleth no fatigue in guarding and preserving them for He is the Most High, the Supreme (in glory).

This clearly shows that humans tried to atrribute human attributes to Allah and try to say that he exceeded human attributes. Clearly this has been written by humans, not by god.

Hi Zaks, Thanks for updating that directly from Quran. No religion preaches hatred, violence and enmity . Hindu-Muslim unity is need of the hour. And it will be displayed in years to come in India.
