Religion and Rediff
by Venkatraman Sekar on Apr 27, 2011 12:11 PM  | Hide replies

Unfortunately until some one points out for abuse the messages continue to remain on the board. Saibaba is not an ordinary human. Single handedly he has done the job of upliftment of the misguided psyche of the individual and wanted to usher in the love for each other irrespective of religion as his own emblem shows, instead of spawning hatred in the name of religion. Now the armchair critques start doing all their damage based on half or no knowledge because Rediff offers a free forum. Especially in matters relating to Religion, Rediff would do well to moderate thoroughly. Otherwise Rediff will be one more source of breeding a lawless society. Hope Rediff is listening!

SRILANKAN GENOCIDE
by Arun Prabhu on Apr 27, 2011 12:09 PM

After Nasi genocide on jews, the biggest human crime is recorded in UN report on srilankan government terrrorism. North indian media is giving the least importance, and covering this junk news for pages.

Disheartening
by Viswanathan Ramki on Apr 27, 2011 12:04 PM

The debate on the treatment to Sai Baba is disheartening-why would a devotee doctor not attend to the ailing Baba with full faith and trust-in homself and his Swamy-we Indians know to be petty only-it will take us a few generations to accept God's will

Satya sai baba's journey
by kalavathi veeraraghavan on Apr 27, 2011 12:04 PM  | Hide replies

Swami is god almigty. My family has been his devotees for the last 50 years. Lot of miracles have happened in my family. Everyone should know that language, caste, creed, colour, country, religion is not at all a barrier for him. So if you don't know about a person please try not to speak bad about him.

if good things happened in your life it may be due to other reasons. I never believed Baba and even did not like him when I was poor. but now I am much more developed and happy in my life then you. No one can claim that they are happier then me. I have seen one devotee who collects pople for baba bajana etc. His doughter became vidow at he age of 29 with two children. And i also have seen another strong beliver of baba who remained poor for ever. so do not think your storey is general. It is a case for you which happens even for non-belivers of god.

Hi Kalavathi,
i do not mean to hurt anyone's religious beleif, but dont you think its dangerous to have people like sai baba in our country, already buried under superstition. He displays magic, liking bibhuti and all, which leads many (litereate and illiterate ) to beleive that such magical powers can indeed heal the body. We still have villages where people suffereing from snake bites are taken to quack snake doctors in hope for a miracle, and hundred such pathetic and dangerous superstitionns. Sai baba claims to be the God, and controversies aside seemed to have build universities and institutes for pursuing intellectual truth. On the ohter hand he demonstrates cheap magical tricks, which really is alluring people from the path of rationality, logic and science. Come on now, people like gavaskar, Sonia Gandhi interanlly gives a damn about this abba, they know its all a hoax and actually they vindicate this organized crime for their own sake....but what about the commoners who would continue to beleive that some non existant miracle shall take care of their health and other problems. Let us want India to face the problems as it is, and not depend on the supernatural, thats the only way our civilization can progress.

Yes, so church was once of the beleif that the sun goes around the earth, they still beleive that there is no concept of evolution and that god directly created human beings (by some magic). Now Galleleo or Darwin did not wait to completely comprehend the church before protesting against its untrue, unjust, apocryphal and completely unscientific ideas. We are no darwin or gallelio, but actually a nation which is ready to sacrfiice everything to make our kids study science in their 12th standard. Now why do we love science so much, only to get into the IIts? or should there be a deeper resaon for pursuing science, that we protest when we see something is unscientific.
