Jaya's serendipity will cause her fall!
by Meiyappan on Apr 15, 2011 09:19 PM

Her hope against hope of Congress deserting DMK and joining her 'rainbow alliance' was her first fault!
Dropping a good campaigner like Vaiko by her lly and taking Vijayakant instead was a big blunder!
Riding on cloud nine over swelling(hired)crowds, she
was completely 'misled" by her sycophants! It is time she rediscovers herself and moves cautiously1

Is there a choice ?
by Hari Padmanabhan on Apr 15, 2011 09:13 PM

The expected defeat of the DMK followed by a win for Jayalalitha does not enthuse the Tamilnadu voter. After all Jayalalitha has been CM for 10 years earlier and could do precious little. She was whimsical, vengeful in going after the DMK, corrupt (through her confidante Sashikala who is still around) and dictatorial in dealing with her party men as well as bureaucrats. She never got the willing cooperation of her MLAs or bureaucrats fearful as they were of incurring her wrath. She has not changed one bit since 2006. Poor Tamilnadu, the mess will continue.

A report that distorts ground realities!
by Meiyappan on Apr 15, 2011 09:06 PM

AIDMK Supremo(63)is obviously afflicted with 'senile dementia'and is quite 'blase' in her"serendipity"!She presumes that people have forgotten the past and are more concerned with the present only!SSO taking cover of the much hyped Spectrum scam she has come to str bare the ruling family!hence, her strategy and tactics have already proved "counterproductive"!DMK WILL WIN!

Advantage AIADMK
by aman on Apr 13, 2011 02:39 PM

In this election, the lower and lower middle class wants change and supports AIADMK .

Middle and up supports DMK .

And the results in some places also depends on the candidate's past performance, and the strength of the alliance.
I think the result will be 60% AIADMK and 40% DMK.

This time we should praise the Election commission, They did their duty well to prevent vote for money.

One should understand that the current DMK Govt has not done anything good for the ppl of T.N. In fact the current CM's family is controlling all the departments i..e cine field, pvt.channels, smuggling of rice meant for poor, smuggling of sand, granite etc. Police dept is not able to work freely because of involvement of the current CM's family members intervention etc.

Wrong again. Mr. Baskar
Alagiri, Stalin, Selvi and Thamil arasu are born to Dayalu.
Kanimozhi is the only daughter of Rajathi.
But they all have common father.
Of course you have Mu Ka Muthu also there, son of Padmavathy, deceased. We need to pay tax for the whole family, their grand children and great grand children and Maran's family too.

AIADMK Chief Jayalalitha offers free subsidy to the christians for going to jerusalam and also promise to include christian SCS/STS in hindu SCS/STS quotas as she is known for closer to christian missionaries as more than 2000 xtian priests went in support of her canvassing in all churches. so this time once she comes to power, first thing is to arrest some hindu sanniyasis and sadhus to please her christian masters who pump money to her

All said and done, Jayalalithaa's 2001-06 reign was efficient and sans corruption. Govt. employees were made accountable. Law & Order was well maintained. Tsunami relief work was quick, widespread and effective. While the previous regime was playing hide and seek with Veerappan, the forest brigand who was later gunned down like a dog by JJ's Govt.

Even her supporters like Cho Ramaswamy and experts were very skeptical about the efficacy of the Veeranam project that set out to supply water to the water-scarce TN capital from a point 300km down south, JJ went ahead with the project. True to its disruptive politics, the DMK tried to scuttle it by inciting the local farmers in the Veeranam belt. Today, it is the major and uninterrupted source of water to Chennai.

Power situation during her time was much more comfortable. Today, power cuts ranging from 3 to 8 hours are an accepted reality in rural TN. (People in Chennai are kept in good humour by the DMK hence they are blissfully ignorant of it.)

Yes, she was and is surrounded by a mysterious clique which is believed to have a major influence on her. But as a person working among the deprived sections, I have got things done through bureaucrats in Govt. offices with considerable ease and more importantly, without bribe!. I had a simple technique that will stiffen them into attention and action at once. All that I would tell them is- 'well, if you can't do it, I will bring to the notice of CM's secretariat!

JC, it is not the true picture of TN, it is only the proverbial tip of the iceberg! After 1967, there has been a steady decline in the character and caliber of people in TN public life. This is basically the culture of the Dravidian parties which has also rubbed off on national parties!
