Ridiculous!
by Rajput Santprakashsingh on Aug 10, 2011 03:35 PM

Mr. Raman, I wouln't have expected use of "phrase" 'ayatollah of democracy' for people like Anna Hazare or for that matter even Ramdev. Every movement needs a face with integrity and these are the faces in Indian context. Somehow when you use this phrase, it gives impression that somebody from establishment is speking in its fevour. The tone is similar to Mr. Digvijaysingh, Mr. Sibbal, Mr. Dwivedi and Mr. Chidambaram. Just as getting elected does not santify everthing our leaders do, similarly not every protestor (here Anna, Ramdev and their followers) can't be treated as 'ayatollah of democracy'. Afterall who stopped these leaders from bringing out a strong Lokpal/anticorruption bill? Without PM with some conditions and higher judiciary , the govenment lokpal is toothless tiger. Don't mess up with literary jargons!

Military Rule
by Sadhu on Apr 16, 2011 12:44 AM  | Hide replies

We should remove all political parties & introduce Military Rule in India to end corruption.

First priority should be to bring all money from foreign banks. If the foreign banks don't cooperate declare war on their country.

Also, military should allow only one child per couple & compulsory minimum 1 year military service for all.

Sadly much to our disbelief these are the very guys who seem to be the ring leaders in corruption. Examples are aplenty..land sold, Adarsh, Liquor being sold through CSD etc....

B Raman assumes that the present Government is going to do the right things. How can he presume so when it has done wrong things only so far.

Gopi Menon
Convert Rajya Sabha into Lokpal-House
by Gopi Menon on Apr 12, 2011 09:25 PM

And it will discuss only corruption of the MPs of the "lower hose" as well as that of President (why not ?) and that of the PMs,CJs etc.It will have the power to audit any official or non official to collect evidence of corruption..otherwise what use we have of this RS ???Election of members to RS shall be by a mix of direct and indirect voting similar to the election of the American President. Also LS members should be elected by a similar manner on the basis of Agenda, for example a person aspiring to be an MP should opt one area, say Education and he should get votes from all constituencies across the Nation, not just "his" constitutency.Inshort all the countrymen will be involved in electing all the MPs ,through say secure internet etc, based on their plans they present before the Nation. Also they will be recalled in a similar vote

This will reduce Parochialism,as well as increase the National sense and direct responsibility and accountability to people rather than "Party".

Ofcourse citizens will have to be vigilant about all the candidates and they have to evaluate the agenda of each individual candidate, there by engaging the citizens more into understanding each agenda and its relevance for him-justification of which is the job of the Candidate

Much-hyped&toothless lok pal bill will NOT reduce corruption&looting even by 5 Percent!!!Our corrupt&crooked election& voting system is the reason for all our trouble including corruption every where& terror& disintegratiion of society, etc. Just Shallow Words &isolated action are NOT enough,We NEED Radical Electoral &Voting System Changes NOW!First and Foremost Election commission MUST make sure that electronic voting machines are NOT rigged like last lok sabha elections and must confirm validity of results by doing simultanous ballot paper voting to prevent possibility of rigging of EVM machines! Only crooks and looters have made our democracy a TOTAL FARCE&looters&dacoits rule 90 crore poor majority hindus making them beggars&third class citizens. The real culprits for Making this Total Farce of a Democracy are those who drafted the constitution&drafted the election laws& even now it is not late!If the consitution makers had put the condition that only those with minimum educational qualification of an intermediate degree are allowed to vote&that voting is made compulsory for all adults&punishable with jail& huge fine for those not voting without adequate reason, india would have been a super power rivalling USA and Europe by now&the crooked nheru dynasty and looters would n

HAZARE IS MATURE ENOUGH?
by JOHN BHATIA on Apr 12, 2011 02:09 AM  | Hide replies

Hazareji, if you are really honest and neutral and secular person, please speak about your guru Bal Thackeray, RSS and VHP. Are they non-corrupt? Are they disloyal to their nation? Yes, Sharad Pawar and UPA might be corrupt to certain extent; but what about the BJP and other parties? So please keep your small mouth shut and do not give any certificate to any politician but concentrate on your work of forming a powerful, meaningful and enforceable legislation under which any and all politicians can be cited for corruption and minimum jail term of 10 years. Please include all religion, social organizations and their leaders too. They are worst corrupt people in India, who are pocketing billions of rupees and tons of gold in their possession without any receipt or account and this black money is the main source of all evils. Just Sai baba has more than 40,000 crores in his Trust, all came from whom?
