The concept of the Avatar is that a specific power or form of the Supreme takes human birth to fulfill a certain need in Earth’s life and to propel Man to his Destiny. The Avatar while greater than ordinary Man, is still subject to the very same conditions of life as Man and would manifest some of the same defects as him. And the Avatar does his work as Man would. Or else we could accuse Him of taking the easy way out while expecting Man to do things the hard way. Such a God would not be worth respecting or loving.

Anyway, ProphetMohammed may have been an Avatar too like Christ and came to do specific work with the same problems and challenges that other men faced. So, whether Sai Baba is an Avatar or a highly realized soul, he too will get sick sometimes, and have other challenges that you and I face. There is nothing contradictory here and his getting ill does not mean he is not godly. Just as ProphetMohammed’s life did not have to be completely unblemished for him to have been a Divine messenger.

Your search for a god/gods is just a Freudian yearning for a father-figure to ensure justice, fair play, order in society, protection from Natural disasters and an explanation for things or phenomena unknown.
Religion arose as a means of explanation of natural phenomena at a time when no other explanation of the origin of natural phenomena had been ascertained. God is the asylum of ignorance. When causes are unknown, god is brought forward; when causes are known, god retires into the background. In an age of ignorance, god is active; in an age of science, he is impotent. History attests this fact.

"When causes are unknown, god is brought forward; when causes are known, god retires into the background."
I disgree and so will many others. Despite advances in evolutionary biology and quantum physics and space sciences, science has not been able to prove that natural phenomena do not have metaphysical causes behind them. The idea of the primordial soup giving rise to complex organisms all by itself is laughable even to the most logical, rational, and scientifically trained. The Director of the US NIH who was associated with the human genome project is a very religious man and so are many many Indian and other scientists! What you claim is just athiestic and communistic propaganda, that's all.
What happens with time is that Man refines and deepens his understanding of spirituality and God.

Finally voice of reason. Question to ask is how he got his money. People allow themselves to be fooled by these kind of people and then collect tons of money in the form of "donation". Skimming people of money is very old game con men play. They pocket chunk of it and spend rest to show how philanthrophic they are. And people fall for it. This person was exposed in the past and also jailed.

Mark Twain-"Religion was born when the first con-man met the first fool!" Dead cant come back. Life ends with death. So why believe lurid stories about an orgiastic paradize and afterlife? There is no heaven and no hell! Why believe stories about divine conception, snakes being used to churn oceans or angels & gods walking on water, splitting the moon, living forever, etc? How long will all the true believers keep swigging wine and enjoying houris while the non-believers keep getting fried & roasted in hellfire? Ever tried frying mutton for more than 30 minutes! It is ridiculously funny! If this so called god is all powerful, why did he create non-believers in the first place? And why does he want to be praised all the time?
Re: Re: Re: Honestly

would you say the same of Jesus Christ, Mr. Paul Alan? If he was the Son of God, why could he not help himself of the cross?
Now does that mean all that work he did, and the work that continues to be done which has been inspired by him, does not exist?
All Sai Baba devotees are taught to Love all and Serve All! Why do you as a human being, have a problem with that, i fail to understand.
In the world of wars and terrorism, I would have expected all human being to be happy to have people like these around who inspire millions to do service for the poor and sick. Instead we have a bunch of skeptics, who have done no real research at all commenting on a 85 year old elderly, ( lets just say he is a normal being, to maintain coherence), calling his followers stupid!
I mean, are you even hearing yourself?
Is this the type of human being you pride yourself in being. One who can shoot down another who professes service and has huge amount of proof?
Hospitals, Schools, drinking water to 1200 villages, a project with one of india's largest consultancy to provide education to 250 million children!
Do you think you can manage 25 without feeling like some super human being!
Man, you need to in touch with reality of yourself, thinking you are above all this. All your comments come from here say, and that is the sad bit, you still consider yourself "educated"!

It is well known to rational thinkers that Saibaba is a fraud who uses elementary magic tricks to lure the gullible and make money. Many of his so called miracles has been proved as fake.
But there are many especially from AP who are superstitious and believe that he is godman. Pity them. He has been involved in sexual abuse of young boys and men and was responsible for the murder of 4 devotees in 1993. But when the powerful are by his side anything is possible in our country

I fall into a category of people who sit on the wall. I appreciate Bhagwan Satya Sai Baba for the good that the community has got thanks to him. Free Education (lower to higher) , free medical facilities ( no distinction between rich or poor - free is free) parched Dry Ananthapur turned green due to irrigation and drinking water due to investment in the same through his trust and many more. Let the non believers appreciate that black money instead of rotting in swiss banks is better contributed to people like him who would funnel the same back for some good. Wish we had more of his kind.

This are all allegations which have not been proved; though I also do not like the fraudGodmenAndGodWomen, I have some respect only for SatyaSaiBaba, that too for the good works he and his organiztion had done for the people of AP and the hospitals run by them. TheirHospital at Bangalore is the only institute in the world where HeartSurgeries for children is done free of cost.

He made my father who had the motor neuron disease able to use his arms again, something at least 200 doctors collective could not do. That to with just a gentle massage for 10 seconds!
Go believe what you want vorpal, that was real! We saw it and live it everyday to today.
Sad to see you did not get a chance to enjoy his glory. God bless you maybe next life.
Just wondering, if someone ever told you that Jesus was alive and walking the earth as the son of god, and you happen to be alive at the time, would you bother to go see him? Or would you have dismissed him as another freak?
At least you owe it to yourself to do your research, you might just miss the chance to meet a Jesus like Being in a your lifetime.
Re: Re: PRAYER

The main hurdle for that is the followers of some alien faiths claiming exclusivity for theirGods. Otherwise we would have rid of superstituions over a hundred years back.

bak bak, the ten avatars represent the evolution of life and of mankind. Matsya, the fish, represents life in water. Kurma, the tortoise, represents the next stage, amphibianism. The third animal, the boar Varaha, symbolizes life on land. Narasimha, the Man-Lion, symbolizes the commencement development of man. Vamana, the dwarf, symbolizes this incomplete development. Then, Parashurama, the forest-dweller, connotes completion of the basic development of humankind. The King Rama signals man's ability to govern nations. Krishna, an expert in the sixty-four fields of science and art according to Hinduism, indicates man's advancement to cultural concerns. Buddha, the Enlightened one, symbolizes the enlightenment and spiritual advancement of man. Note that the time of the avatars does not necessarily indicate much; kings ruled long before Rama and science was pursued long before Krishna. The avatars represent the order, and not the time, of these occurrences, according to certain Hindus. The animal development connotations bear striking resemblances to the theory of Evolution.

It is almost impossible to date the same correctly but we can safely assume that those books were written between 3500 to 5000 years back; there are a few books whose authors are not known even in a relatively new language like Malayalam.

wELL may be existed in india and taught in arabia.who knows let it remain as a mystery till the end..as i dont believe in any gods or i do believe in all the gods of all other religions ,i dont want to get an answer for myself or you.
Scientists and GeneticEngineers will find an answer to that also sooner than later but that does not prove the "inelligent creation" theory also. All we can say for sure for now is that there is NoCreator who created every thing in the universe.
