Dear Mr. Rashid,
God has many forms.
Sometimes he / she is a man, a snake, a bull, a tree, a bird, a stone..... you name it, God is everywhere. God is everywhere.. in every form.. in every time. Humans can not proof the God. Because we do not have that power or intelligence to proof God. It is a matter of faith/belief.

God is not a matter of proof. It is a matter of faith. What I claim is just my belief.

As I mentioned, the vedas and puranas hold diverse view points. These images also are based on the verbal description given in the same texts.

Do people believe that Ganesha actually exists or is it just a fun, light hearted holiday and an excuse to get together?

You worship 'AALLAH'. This name was created by someone and you worship this creation.

Worshiping the name "AALLAH", is also a worship of creation. Bcoz this name 'AALLAH' itself was created by someone.

Why are your bothered? it is obvious you don't have faith in god so please do not question others belief's. If there is a god then he is happy we are celebrating him, if there is no god this is still a good occasion to get together with family and friends.

I am not sensitive, your question was sarcastic and cynical. I am sure you are old enough to understand concepts of god and religion. I am sure you know there is no straightforward answer yet you chose to pose that question, so yes my answer was somewhat rude.
