What is the big deal ..
by David Rex on Sep 06, 2010 08:31 AM

The constables have to pay money to their bosses.

Their bosses have to pay to ministers. Ministers have to pay money to CM.

CM has to pay money to party High Command.

Party High Command owes us tax of US $500 billion per year.

That is why we have to use our EVMs to appoint rulers for you who will make the system run smoothly.

Constables are justified in their action
by Mahesh Jagga on Sep 05, 2010 03:44 PM  | Hide replies

When the constables know that the PM of this country does not take action against his corrupt ministers and even addresses them as Pawarji and Rajaji, when they can see Maya taking crores in full public view under guise of donations from party workers, when they know that Bofors investigation has been successfully derailed at behest of Sonia and Q's accounts unfrozen, when they also know that the Presidents and Speakers in this country are not elected on merit, why should they be the only unfortunates who are being stopped from making a few hundred bucks?

The corruption starts at top. There is no point blaming poor & unfortunate constables for this act.

Yes- all this under the one they call "Mr Clean"- who presides over the probably the biggest groups of criminals ever assembled under one roof in modern history- aka his cabinet (and crony outside supporters).

Bareli incidence
by Hansraj Yadav on Sep 05, 2010 12:00 AM

Well done Kalpna. It is high time we recognise the level of corruption prevailing in the police department and ask our politicians and civil servants to fundamentally change the workings of the police, create a police authority on the lines of British police system. Bring in the strict driving and transportation rules. We should do away with barriers altogether. Bring in the system of HIGHWAY PATROL as in USA. Install cameras to monitor. Minimum qualification of any police officer should be graduation. Their pay structure should be changed. There should be no permanacy in the job. There should be no pension for life and all jobs should be open to competetion. The fitness standards should be of highest level. Any monenies amassed through corrupt means should be confiscated and auctioned. There should be minimum sentence of 15 years for corrupt officers. Any monies claimed as gift from the admirers( not from the very close blood relatives) should be taxed at 99%, this would prevent garlands of notes being presented and flaunted. There are too many vested interests to bring about such sweeping changes, therefore, we should hire professionals from abroad like we do for CRICKET. If we do not wake up to the stark realities then there will be NAXALS every where and the nation will be brought to it's knees and the sitution will be similar to the current situation of Pakistan.

the only problem facing this country is corrupation
by svsrinivas@airindia.in on Sep 04, 2010 03:06 PM  | Hide replies

The only problem facing this country is corrupation. We have enough laws (in fact more than required number of laws) but this very "laws" are being used to make money by some of the ministers, politicians, the political brokers, some of the government employess. Some people from the press are associating with this corrupt people and don't expose the corrupt people deeds.
If the laws are used correctly chances of gender , caste, regional, religious discrimination will go and will have a all inclusive growth.
We have rare exceptions like Mrs Kalpana Saxena, who are fighting the corrupt. Keep up the good work Mrs Kalpana Saxena. People always have very high regard for a person like you.

The corruption is root of all evils.Problem is what's the workable solution?OUR YOUNG TALENTS MUST PUT THEIR HEADS INTO IT. pERHAPS WITH IT ENABLED TOOLS AND METHODS THIS MENACE COULD BE CONTAINED. A Corruption Eradication Advisory Commission can be established to aid and advise the govt on this on a regular basis.

Corruption Eradication Advisory Commission?? LOL.

Who will head it? Raja, Soren, Kalmadi, Pawar, Maya or Laloo?

People will pay to be part of it. WHen they fail, they will be willing to pay to commission members large sums to ensure they are not investigated.

Want to eradicate corruption? The buck stops at the top.

a) The president quits because she was not elected on merit.

b) ditto for Speaker of Lok Sabha.

c) PM removes all corrupt ministers from his cabinet. He may not have a cabinet after this action.

d) He declares that he will get the information on money stashed in tax heavens within next sixty days and will resign if he fails.

Corruption Eradication Advisory Commission, a good idea. It will take 10 years for deliberation with little or no result, like the Lebrahan Commission and many others such like. We have to imbibe the value of correctness, truth in our day today dealings from the beginning in our school children and our youth have to be motivated. There are still lots of good and honest people around. The politicians are responsible for this state of affairs and they should be identified and refused office next time round and there should be a mechanism to recall the sitting legislators and there should be no pension for life for them as is the current state of affairs.
