Liberate to resolve....than resolve to liberate

Seems Arundhati Roy has stirred a hornet's nest by stating what amounts to sedition for many. But, instead of targeting her, the Kashmir and Central Govt should focus on resolving this perennial problem of Kashmir. We have not gained anything by keeping it with India, and only drained our resources for decades. Despite this, Kashmiri people in general dislike India, perhaps due to the high-handed behaviour of the forces and politicians. The amount of money Govt spends on Kashmir can be used more productively on rest of the country. Hence, in the interest of rest of India, it seems better to make Kashmir a UN Administered place permanently. That should resolve the terrorism issue from across the border as well. Sometimes letting go is wiser than forcibly clinging on to something...

When a celebrity says what millions might say, it acquires special significance. The celebrity has a greater responsibility in utterances. Roy has not done this; she has said what is encouraging millions of people to revolt and indulge seditious activity. Her sense of thought is irresponsible and her further defence of her speech is stupidity.
