it has become fashion for many states to induct new buses of Volvo, Tata, Mercedes, etc.,with low bed, a/c and air suspension for city transport of common man. The pricing of tickets for these buses are really a burden to the common man who is forced to travel by these buses compromising his expenses in other sectors. Public Transport is meant for use by common man who cannot afford the luxury of owing either a two wheeler or a car and even travel by auto/taxi and the government duty is augument such facilities to the common man and not with motive to make profit. But the idea of many state government is otherwise and the induction of new luxury buses is indeed a burden on the common man and should not be forced on them to use by withdrawing the current fleet of buses. In Karnataka, traveling by bus is a fortune. For a 50 km drive to the new airport, you are charged a minimum of Rs.180.00 per head. for travel 8 kms by volvo a/c bus you are charged Rs.20. This should not be the trend of governments to keep punishing the common man by over burdening his daily expenses.

right to some extent but there is mkt.for every product. luxury buses as well as normal buses shld ply on roads.
most buses were operated by politicians or senior police officers in the name of relatives or friends DRIVERS were from haryana where following road rules or showing manners is considered cowardly
In the year 2006-2007 1 person died due to Blue Line bus accidents every day - 1 a day deaths occured those 2 years. But Sheela Dixit said 'accidents do happen' in every part of the world.
