Self-congratulatory - believe it or not
by Rivka Mishra on Oct 26, 2010 06:11 PM

How flattering of the Indian left to say that they are caught up in the 1940's. It would be more correct to say their mindset is from the 1880's.

Preach Patriotism
by Govind Lal on Oct 26, 2010 04:20 PM

Mr.Karat opened his heart. But the truth is hidden some where. Recall the first communist govt (first in the world) that came to power with free and fair election in 1956 in Kerala. That govt was dismissed by Congress on some flimsy ground, allegedly orchestrated by CIA. Later they penetrate party cadres and finally made the party split. The splinter groups (now around 30) fought every where every time to damage it further. The CIA sow the ‘seeds of differences’ and it grew to destroy the party from within. The CIA is watching with smiles the vanishing of communism in India.

The mistake with the communists in India is their slogan ‘workers of the world unite’. But the workers of other countries did not follow this. They follow the slogan ‘workers of the country unite’ no matter what happened to other countries. Though the ideal preached by Indian communists are far superior it do not have takers from other countries. It is time for Mr Karat and his party to make an introspection and make a deviation. Let them build up an EGO in the cadre. A kind of self-esteem. Let them preach PATRIOTISM to the cadre. The patriotism will unite them. Patriotism will generate more energy for nation building. At the same time never try to destroy our culture that is evolved in course of millenniums. Our culture has in built variables to accommodate different ideologies and to coexist.

Let him have an India spec

How is Karat any different ? Has he modified his views on left. The leftist dogmas are as rigid as any religion. I guess after presiding over the demise of the left in India, this guy is doing cya (cover your a....)

End of Marxism
by girish naithilingan on Oct 26, 2010 02:09 PM

Its very evidient, that Marxism will extinct very soon. I will not be surprised the Karat-ear will be the last generation to follow marxism. Hence it will inevitable for the marxist to forge against the present swing of capitalism or mixed economy. One can certiainly see, the present generation in India, give zero importance to marxist ideology. Indirectly, Mr. Karat is infering that the whole marxist philosophy will be extinct in India. This is supported by the statistics in Kerala and West Bengal.

Karat is at last learning something
by Gururaj Narayan on Oct 25, 2010 07:35 PM  | Hide replies

From the manner in which Prakash Karat obstructed all the major decisions of UPA 1, it seemed that of all the commmunists, he was the one who was stuck in the history of the times of Stalin and Mao. Indeed it is surprising that how he is mouthing the truth, that Indian communists are stuck with the ideas of 1940s! Pot calling the kettle black! Until recently, it seemed that Karat was like Napoleon III in the French History, a man who learnt nothing, and forgot nothing. At last, even he too has started learning.

There is one loss though, due to weakening of communist movement. There is no labour movement worth speaking of in India. Managements have become extraordinarily strong, especially in the field of knowledge labour such as BPO and software industry.
