More than 7 in 10 Indians have confidence in Obama ....
by mohammed abdulmalik on Oct 23, 2010 01:49 AM

More than 7 in 10 Indians have confidence in Obama that his visit will not make any difference in creation of the jobs here or solving the poverty... its only diplomatic visit and only the media and marketing guys can be benifted by all this gimmics, neither he is going to get david hadely in Indians hands. It is better if these people come with a real heart for progress of India and not just their own countries benifits and interests.

Understand Obama
by Anil Joshi on Oct 23, 2010 12:47 AM  | Hide replies

To understand Obama one has to understand US politics.

American have two major parties Republican and Democratic

While Republican party believes in capitalist thought favours businessman. Republican believe that a person or enterprise is free to choose their path to make more profit and government role is just to be an enabler for maintaining the right environment of business. Republican favour small government and do not oppose outsourcing.

As oppose to Democrats ( Mr Obama’s party ) believes in socialism , big government , popular politics. Since the time Mr Obama has taken office he is fighting tooth and nail to stop outsourcing. He has taken back tax credit to companies who are doing outsourcing and making outsourcing less lucrative.

Obama and his policy are not good for Indian outsourcing companies and hence in turn Indian economy, In fact we as Indian should hold a protest during Obama visit to make his realize that not everyone is happy with his policies. In global economy every country should have equal chance to sell what they are effectively produce. America is cost effectively producing Nike , Lee , McDolands and selling to India and Indian market is open for these products hence the product of India “the brain power” should have equal chance to compete in American market. Mr Obama’s policies are making it tough for us to compete.
So lets forgo the aura and charisma of Mr Obama and look at his

you are an idiot.
why Obama has to oppose outsourcing because there is 10% unemployment rate in USA. Why America would want to outsource job to India while 10% Unemployment rate in own country.

With same logic why Indians should buy American products when India has 30% people under poverty. And why should not Indian goverment put higher tax on American products. We are talking about global economy which hinges on free flow of skill and products. While Indian market is open for American products and American companies are free ( with no specific tax levy) to sell that product . Same should be applicable for skilled people - which is export of India.
My opposition of Obama policies are clear you cannot have it both ways either you believe in global economy or believe in protectionism .... either way is fine but be ready for the consequences of it. Americans enjoy lower cost leaving ( compare to other developed nations Europe , Japan , Australia ) because their stuff in Walmart is produced in China ... Americans have cheaper IT solutions because Indians are doing it. Americans have cheaper banking services because their back office is outsources. Americans have cheaper food because Mexican are picking strawberries for $2 an hour in Texas. If everything is done by Americans it would be costly ( Like Sweden Finland) and engine of American economy will slow down.

So Mr Obama and his socialist friend think very clearly what had made America great.... What has made America a success is not the short term protectionist policy , but long term sustained practise of capitalist principles.

Add the point Once Indian Market is open to American Comapnies they will make more profit and pay more tax in US. US will increase funding to Pakistan. Pakistan can plan&execute 26/11 type attacks on India every moth.
Obama is smart want to put India in dead loop - if we grow fast we will get more attacks from Pak, to reduce the attack - we should grow slowly.

Obama is playing a Dirty Politics against the Indian growth -linking it indirectly with threat from Pak ISI.
