You cannot supply to both sides of the border. Stick to the Euro's and Russians. No need for rewarding US for its "strategic" relationship with China and Pakistan.
India has to according to the interests of the Muslims here which is a very big disadvantage in decision making, neither US, nor China, nor p000rkistan have this trouble. This point very clearly proves that pluralism and diversity is such a drawback and threat to any country. If India still doesn't believe it, it's only fooling itself and moving closer to death.
Pakistan was a close ally of US during cold war due to India's proximity with USSR. But since cold war ended, the relationship dynamics changed and we become more valuable to US. But due to their past acts of supporting extremists in that region now US is kind of stuck with Pakistan in the marriage of inconveniences.
They nurtured the monster and now monster is in demanding mode and the master can do nothing but comply with the demand...that why they say world is round.

US will continue its support to Pakistan despite all evil designs of Pakistan as its the only way for Americans to connect to the Islamic world. Americans want to send a message to the islamic world that they are not against Islam which in fact they are and Pakistan is the only way to substantiate their point. For India its time to have multiple BRAHMOS kind of joint ventures not only with Russia but countries like Israel, France, UK, Sweden etc. Its the only way we can fill the gap. Also it will give exposure to our engineers and scientists. We can truly exploit their potential in that way. Privatisation will end the sarkari attitude of the people in DRDO and other defence establishment. We cannot afford to have such irregualarities with our defence preparedness.

Russia is dependable but Russian equipment and supplies are not. Russian quality is not upto the mark due to which Sukhoi 30 MKIs have been fitted with Israeli and French avionics. We need to eliminate the dependency on Russian supplies.
