Celebration time for 'Desi comrades'
by Vishvaksenah E on Oct 19, 2010 10:05 AM  | Hide replies

Few years ago, there was a saying -China's Chairman is our Chairman.
Nowadays there is no Chairman in China, but there is a President.

I presume laddos might be distributed in the homes of Yechury, Karat, Buddhadeb, Pinarayi, and N.Ram of 'The Hindu' as they are about to get a new 'President'

This is a democracy inside the communist party
by Raj Gupta on Oct 19, 2010 07:44 AM

Xi is not picked up by Hu Jingtao. He is more a part of previous president Jiang's political group.

Current President Hu and Premier Wen will lost most of their political influence after their step down.

China is no exeption but India takes the biscuit,
At lest in China the government serves the nation and its people more then they serve their accounts in swiss banks.
where as in India it is the other way around.

Have to give credit where it is due
by Desi Bhai on Oct 19, 2010 12:46 AM

For all the evils of a unitarian society, one has to credit the Communist setup of China where, at least on paper as we see it, there seems to be a regulated yet efficient (to a fair extent) transition of power - at least there is change and no one is left wondering when will I get a chance. Besides, fresh ideas seem to come in, which usually comes up with better results than worse... and two terms is probably just right, not too much not too little.
