hello pls... army is not just what you think a mechanism just to protect civilians. They have to safeguard national interests, create strategic and diplomatic relations, engage every bad situation, and are answerable to hell a lot of questions for each of their deeds.. by crossing the boundary we will be violating international rules and damage our own image as a country that have never invaded any nation. If we did that we lose international support, we might be able to curb the terror outfits for a small time but they will regroup at the earliest and again an action will definitly ignite suspicions and lead to a war (may not a bilateral one). More over dont be too selfish while saying that there is an Indian army who will face any danger to protect us, though that is correct. Just show some feeling for those people who are joining army to safeguard civilians like us.. dont just force them into unprecedented trouble . They are there to defend our country and assets not to relieve someone off his nightmares about the terror camps operating on the other side. Let us first pray for the well being of our devouted soldiers and their family. It is true that they will safeguard us without any complients but then, that's their broad mind and patrotism. If we need to share some of their burden, try help developing our country by doing our duties well.

Indian navy does not have amphibious troops like US Marines except for Marcos (which is a elite group). That element is generally taken care of special amphibious division of army. Hence the army personnel were there to study such moves. Please read the article more carefully and you will see its mentioned there.

I think a joint army , navy , airforce team has visited this exercise as observers. The officer in the blue shirt is an air-force officer.behind him, to the left of the picture is an Indian army officer, most probably from the para's.rediff news does not have a great reputation of reporting correctly about military matters.
