How are we supposed to react after watching that 2007 video ? Sing national anthem and get goose bumps with patriotic fervor ?

You fking morons should maintain/upgrade your website on an hourly basis. The antiquated page displays show historical events - yoga for sex, IITs, Who left 50 lac job to work in NGO, Indian Navy on Somalian pirates.

This fking bogus nonsense has become too ridiculous.

also the chase aircraft is defenitely not Tejas as mentioned in the article, possibly it is a Harrier.

The clip was shot in 2007
by Rock Water on Nov 30, 2010 08:14 PM

This is bad journalism, the clip clearly shows its shot in 2007, I am sure the run way it took of was not Goa but Bangalore. I was quiet eager to see LCA undergoing the trials in terms of firing the heating seeking missile or R-73 was dissappointed with rediff, however congratulations to the team and I would like to see LCA as a good replacement for MIG-21 bisons as an effective and a superior fighter plane in its segment.

Why the video is dated 25.10.2007 if the test fire is done now?

Rediff blunders again
by Kirti JaganMohan on Nov 30, 2010 08:01 PM  | Hide replies

The chase plane was a Harrier and not another Tejas. Didn't anyone at Rediff watch the video before posting it? You can clearly make out they are different wing planforms.

I noticed the delta wing and the normal wing. But if this video is from 2007, maybe the chase aircraft in the video is a MIG 21?

The article says the missile firing plane was Tejas and chase plane was also a Tejas. But the video is not the latest but from 2007.

Rediff thinks readers are brain-less.

I wont be surprised if induction takes another year or two.. I was enthused in 2003 or 2004 when it took first flight. It is almost 7 years since then! So another 1-2 year delay is not out of question.

I hope it gets inducted asap too, but let's see......

Yes,it was to confirm whether R73 could be fired from Tejas. And R73 is the best air to air missile in the world. So it was very important for Tejas to be a fit platform to fire this missile.

I think it was Rolls Royce engines, never heard of a Jaguar engines for aircrafts, and they were for commercial planes.
