Congress Statement :
>> Our beloved chacha neharu wanted us to explore the south pole and finally(??) we have realized his dreams (?). so what if it took 60 years and 2 lakh crores (including scams)

>> We need to send atleast 12% SC, 7.5% OBC, 27% OBC and dont forget minority representation. so what if those from "qu0ta" dont qualify as scientits, still we need to send them to South Pole.

>> MM singh is the person behind this success but as ofcourse sonia ji is the one who gave the final node.

anything else you want to say Mr "VHPHurriyat Madman" I can respond to that :-)

India at Pole !

2010 would mark major milestone in the history of Indian Polar science as it successfully accomplishes the first ever expedition to South Pole, commemorating the Amundsen feat of trouncing the treacherous south pole.Year 2010 would also see an all out effort to begin actual construction of third Permanent Antarctic research base-Bharati , in the austral summer at Larsemann hills which had run into the rough weather due to the resistance by countries likes of Australia during intense deliberations in international committee that governs the Antarctic affairs . India prevailed despite all insinuations by the handful of countries to scuttle india’s proposal to build new station . India has been rapidly expanding its Bi -polar Scientific activity in recent years .The Scope of the mandate given to the National Centre of Antarctic & Oceanic Research ( NCAOR ) is set to widen, with its recent foray in Arctic science by launching of sole research base-Himadri in Ny-alesund in 2008.Armed with proposal to buy Ice class vessel which would add further teeth to its Polar logistics ,enabling year long scientific excursions around the earth through frozen seas , India is emerging as a country with strong base in extreme science .The long festering lacuna in Polar science has been overcome with launch of Hemadri . India has been maintaining permanent research base in Antarctica for past 30 years thanks to the grand vision of late Prim

This is a great achievement by our scientists to bear such extreme cold, kudos to them for such amazing feat, well done.

National Centre for Antarctic and Ocean Research is one of the pioneer reseach body, its contribution to hoisting tricolour at South Pole needs serious appreciation.

Scientific research has been going on in South pole Antarctica for nearly a century.
Nothing new and it is as pristine as ever the scientific researcher are not allowed to contaminate Antarctica in any way otherwise all research will fail.
reserch in antartica is based in the depth of snow and if that is contaminated then there will be no accuracy.
Ice core drilled will show contamination.
SO HAVE HEART AND LET THE RESEARCH CARRY ON.
