Typically Indian...blame it on a pilot who is dead and can no longer defend hismelf. In the process, cover up all inefficiencies of the airport design. Now everything will be buried and any hope that Mangalore will have a safer airport is gone. When is the next disaster?

There are several reports on the airport itself that it is quite precariously placed on a hill top

Why that? Our central govt & the party that is pushing it with the help(!) of tons of lungi, commie, bongi parties is itself precarious. Still it is hanging by it's balls just cause idiotic Indians are also still zapped by it's Falsely Projected Halo rather than work culture (which has never been these party's forte.)

ha ha third leg u dont need to not clear somthing to know what goes on in the system
im not a pilot but i have seen the way system works
its only for rich and people who have influence
play a fair and square game and give everyone a chance they u will know who the real champs are
and admit it dude everyone knows how DGCA works they need no introduction
first of all in most corrpt state and the laid back attitude that they have ...
people have papers even before exams and what about students who study hard
why do you think no opening has come up in papers or media in so much time
bcoz everythng goes internally and everyone knows it
bcoz of these dogs innocent people will lose their lives

and all they can do is blame pilot sayin its a pilot error ... this also must be another trick of them to save their airlines
god knws what other lengths they will go to

what bout u dude ur a boom pilot or have fly strings attached :-)
even if u do cant blame u ha ha

Humanity, still AirIndia (IndianAirlines) Pi1ots are much better than the Pi10ts of other airlines. I prefer flying AirIndia any day compared to the private Airlines (except for Kingfisher to some extent).

And Mangalore Airport itself is not such a bad one. I had travelled to Mangalore also many times.

oh ofcors pilots are much better ...they fly it with minimal requirements in good condition
im talkng bout now days the kind of people being taken and its not just air india
its everywhre

its unfortunate mangalore accident happnd but why blame the pilot now.. airline should take responsibility for it and not jst keep blaming poor pilot who is no more
its unfortunate it happnd so many people lost their lives

We should rename it to "SCHEDULED AIRLINES". After all, they only fill SC/ ST/ BC/ BT/ OBC/ Muslims/ Christains etc.

Pilot fatigue
by Lie Group on Nov 18, 2010 01:24 AM  | Hide replies

Airlines is primarily responsible for most situations of pilot fatigue. When suffering from fatigue, people doze off or become inattentive randomly. It must have been caused due to over-working of the pilot.

commander obviously made a miscalculation while landing and co-pilot was correct to point it out. However after landing, the commander tried to take off again to avoid overshooting and copilot because of his lack of experience in such a situation and perhaps his position didnt force the commander to abort take off.

Point is that irrespective of your position if you strongly feel about something specially when your own/loved ones life is at risk go with your guts, no matter what.

Why would they? All the funds were exhausted in whitewashing the Delhi Airport; in fact they borrowed more than that in loans from World Bodies. So they're out of funds now. (Pls don't ask like a moron as to how much percentage of the total funds were actually utilised for Whitewashing.....)
