a sitting governor's job is not to spend time to write memoirs to make a buck while being on people's payroll. changing religion away from indian origion can turn one into congressia culture.

Criticize his policies but how does it matter to you if he has changed his religion? That is his personal issue. Are you trying to say only Hindus live in India. Just to remind you that we have the largest Muslim popluation in the world after indonesia & a sizable Christian population too. So come out of your stupid well & face reality. If Jindal changed his faith it is only because his older faith had nothing substantial to offer him. Anyways H induism is a religion of darkness & decadence. Why blame poor Bobby for changing it.

You remind me of the 'cat that shuts its eyes and says the world is dark'
First try to understand the basics of Hinduism before making foolish/ignorant comments.
Your forefathers were also hindus but during muslim rule either to curry favor with the ruling class or due to coercioun you you became muslim.
Hinduism is the more liberal and enlightened democratic religion. This is the only religion which preaches 'Vasudhaiva kutumbakam'i.e.whole world is my family unlike islam where you divide humanity into'Believers & non-believers'and their lies the conflict and all the fights that originates and spreads from countries like pakistan where sunnis cannot even tolerate shias just because of some difference in beliefs.Acceptance and tolerance is the hall mark of any hindu otherwise you wouldn't have been there in this country at all.

Muslims who were rulers of this land for more than 1000 years were never in need of your psuedo tolerance..If you event want to know what tolerance is..

Ask your own co-religionsts called hers called Dalits..before shooting your ignorance about sunnis and shias.

Mr.exposse
Muslims came as invaders and looted india .Yes it was true that Hindus were scattered and did not take on them in unison.
However after the muslims the english came and drove them away from their riyasat acquired by violent means.
Can we forget the fate of the mughals at the end.
In free india secularism is because of hindu majority.
However the fact of sectarian strife among different muslim groups like shias and sunnis cannot be denied.
As for dalits free india and gandhiji have taken enormous steps to remove caste barriers and today the dalits enjoy preferance in education /jobs even as compared to upper caste hindus.
However you are iuncapable of commenting on hinduism since you have no knowledge.

Indian born, Indian born,.......
by inamik on Nov 13, 2010 08:55 PM  | Hide replies

Rediff should stop making the "Indian born.." calls again. It does not make sense to claim every foreign citizen who moved from India to other countries in like 1-2 years after birth. What did he do to India or India did to him?

If we celebrate Jindal-like people, we should celebrate the success of Dawood Ibrahim as well. Because he too was Indian born. Jindal is more American than american born people.

It is just foolish to air stories about american citizens claiming that their success is India's success.

That too when people like Jindal, Haley etc. do everything they can to hide there Indian roots as if they are an embarrassment.

Maybe they can learn a thing or two from Obama who never tried to shy away from his heritage.

Apostate
by Chris on Nov 13, 2010 08:38 PM  | Hide replies

Bobby Jindal is an Apostate, who chose to forsake the Hindu religion, into which he was born.

As far as Indians are concerned, Bobby Jindal is a loser, who tries far too hard to impress the Americans.

Loser Bobby Jindal, be proud of the skin you were born with. Represent the skin you were born with.

No need to claim to be the voice of all Indians. Express your own opinion only and leave the rest to others.

Obama 'not connected to reality on the ground'
by Tummalapalli Sivaji on Nov 13, 2010 05:08 PM

Ground reality is that Mr.Jindal is way behind Obama in every respect and can not even think of his candidature for the presidential elections in 2010. It is too premature to think. This is nothing but political dram to see himself esclated at Nattional Level Politics.
