Obama visit to India
by liaqathusain shakir on Nov 13, 2010 11:55 PM  | Hide replies

It is beyond one's understanding as to why India kow-tows the US. Clinton, Bush or Obama - all belong to the same clan. How has Obama's visit helped Indian interests - political or otherwise? And why does India so much depend upon the US for tackling its issues with Pakistan? Time and again it has been noticed that the US has acted as the proverbial monkey deceiving the cats to take their cake away. The business treaties may in all probability help Americans to dump banned goods, especially drugs and medicines, on Indians as the Indian government is lured into waking up to harsh realities only a quarter of a century later than the US. What kind of sense prevails in the Indian authorities that makes them think that a drug which is dangerous to Americans today becomes dangerous to Indians only after it is dumped and consumed in India. Every Indian will hang his head in shame when he comes to know that there are hundreds of drugs banned in the US being freely distributed in India while even a small neighbouring country like the Bangladesh has banned them. Isn't it a clear case of the 'fence destroying the crop'? Though such matters are handled by the Indian Govt. covertly, one overt example that highlighted Indian government's designs is the stand taken by it (to oppose the ban)when the whole of the International community joined hands to ban Endosulfan. Obama's visit therefore is only to turn US 'waste' into wealth and to win a military base to tackle Iran and China.

Spending huge money for Security
by vaithialingam sivakumar on Nov 13, 2010 02:58 PM  | Hide replies

I am really upset that the our Govt ruthlessly spent Rs 980 CRORES OF INDIAN RUPEES DAILY PER DAY fOR 4 days (4*980) Such amount of expenditure can be spent for poor people education and health care.
Why no media is highlighting this non sense?
My blood pressure is rising for this.
Imagine if the money is spent for rural health and sanitation where good hospitals are not available.
It is a callous attitude and poor governance that spoils the country by wasting our precious money.

US atrocities

It is shame for a country like India where these type of things going.
US officials insulted our Ministers and High officials in the name of security check during their visit there.
They are thinking that they are the most cautious people and doing all these nonsences.
Being a developed country India should avoid the visits of White collared traders like Mr.Obama or so.

Why not?

Why this P.C. of Mumbai is pissed off if they behave hand-handedly? They know that they are in a city where every year from 1984 terrorist attacks are happening with impunity and common lives are lost. Mumbai police is still not successful in completely stopping these attacks unlike Americans where there is not a single episode after 9/11. So what's his problem if they secure their president in their style which is successful?!
