From the time Antony became Defense minister, he had been pushing for indigenisation. Great job, let the major chunk of defense budget be spend within the country than passing it on to foreign cos. DRDO, ADA, BHEL etc, its time to pull up your socks and be more innovative.

aaa bbb...u dont live in india or have never gone to icici and compared it to pathetic sbi
AND PURCHASED US AIRPLANES MINUS TECHNOLOGY..ALSO RUSSIAN PLANES..WHICH FALL FROM SKY EVERY NOW AND THEN AND DID NOT IMPROVE STATE F THE ART INDEGENIOUS MACHINES
to open branches of their factories in india to employ indians and produce world-class products to be purchased by our defence establishment in competition with imporys in quality, besides exporting to other countries also. public sector defence producers should be encouraged to outsource components to the private sector to ensure competitive maintenance of quality levels. leaving things entirely to public sector establishments getting quota-based recruitments of staff will only result in delays and substandard productions which may not pass the rigorous quality tests by defence forces. senior defence officers recommending imports from specific foreign or domestic companies must be monitored watchfully and eliminated from the services promptly. eternal and total vigilance is the price for freedom and safety for the nation.
This is indeed a good and right step in the proper direction of Defence matters for a growing and aspiring nation like India.
This would also help in eliminating the dubious role of agents and middlemen who work for foriegn suppliers to pocket their commission and curb the level of corruption in defence procurements.
