No bullet proof vests .No proper ammunition to tackle the situation.Not even numbers as they were deputed to protect the criminals .Iver and above cowards - yes it is Sure way to get shot ,all the same - with right motivation they could have fought .Where is the motivation ?

No police force in the world provides or can afford to provide bullet proofs to all its members. Definition of proper ammunition is very wide. It is not the weapon but the person handling it who is more important.

With minister needing protection even to pee - and the senior bureaucrats with a platoon with them always .they expect this low paid policemen to go and face death .After death the families will be left to beg or do some unusal jobs .That is situation - so How many will be motivated.

Cowardly cops like this Yashwant Thorawde and Suresh Kadam can only carry out encounters of petty & low level gangsters and extort money from the pros around VT or chase away couples from the parks! Such cops should be dismissed without any pension! Compare this with Karkare, Kamte or Salaskar or Omble who made the supreme sacrifice in the line of duty!
