SURELY PIOT ERROR WHY BELAME THE RUNWAY
by Harmeet Bhatti on May 23, 2010 09:12 PM  | Hide replies

The flight landed overshooting 3000 to 4000 feet of its actual landing area. This shows that pilot was not alert as to what he was doing.

1. He landed the plane almost in the middle of the full length of the run way.

2. He realised his mistake and tried to stop it and the tire got burst of the sudden brakes

3. he tried to again take off again but the length of the run way left was too short even though he tried to throttle up but banged against the wall and went down.

All this shows that pilot was not alert , either the copilot who was less experianced was in commmand at the time of landing.

Why belame the runway. when the pilot lands it in wrong way. The planes were landing there since last 4 years.

WHEN WILL ALL THESE AIRLINE OPERATORS REALISE THAT THEY SHOULD HIRE ONLY EXPERIANCED PILOTS RATHER THAN FRESH FROM SCHOOLS AND MAKE SURE THAT THE ACTUAL FLIGHT IS NOPT USED AS THEIR TRAINING PLACE, WHERE AND ERROR CAN TAKE UP LIFE OF HUNDREDS OF PASSENGERS.

Well the pilot overshot the runway by 2000 feet for whatever reason. However the fact is that the runway is badly designed with no buffer zone or sand barriers to stop the aircraft. It does seem the pilot braked hard but the aircraft skidded..However the real deaths happened because the aircraft split into two and fell into the cliff and caught fire.

The existence of the cliff at the end of the runway is a design flaw. It should have been extended either by filling up or on pillars by at least 1000 feet.

Don't talk like a fool.....Accidents happen when mistakes are committed....Pilots are human beings....Don't u ever commit mistake??? When u write something....see it from every angle

The runaway should be twice or thrice the suffcient length, why not? there is a question of so many people's life. You cannot play with human life. After all even pilot is also a human, so what even if he is much experiance person, still he is a human and can make mistake.

No runway is safe enough if there is human error from pilot or maintenance personal. No one knows what went wrong at the end moment it will be know only after proper investigation

However blaming the runway is absolutely not right bcos there have already been 30000 landings in the same runway strip and nothing happened till now.

So its got to do with some malfunction in aircraft system or components or human error or combination of all these

The Pilot had 10 yrs and the Copilot had 15 yrs experience of flying, so their experience cannot be questioned for the accident. Missing the actual landing point is not always the Pilot's error, sometimes the direction of wind is reponsible for that.

Killer airport
by kssunder on May 23, 2010 08:31 PM

There should be an enquiry as to how this monkey hill was chosen for an airport at M'lore when there were plenty of plain available at that time.Enquiry should determine the last 3 dealings of the land, how it was acquied,at what price and from whom.Further report as to justifiablity of this hill and any dissentions. It appears in all probability that this must have changed hands like the centaur hotel deal. This airport must be shut and shifted to the plains if the danger persists.God forbid we should not wait till another mishap occurs. An estimated probability should be made of the chance of occurance of another mishap.

There is a conflict of interest here. THe DGCA is a body of the state. And the aircraft involved also belongs to a state carrier.

Results of EVIL Engineering ,DEVIL Administration and Corrupt Politics...

The airport was built in 2006. We have some state of the art evil going on here by professional & political devils.

Combine a runway that has a cliff at the end of it and a underperforming fuel efficient airplane and Satan has another roast.
Have plane run ways with EXTRA land to spear, that when or if a plane shoot the run way, it have more flat space to and not a precipice.

This IS AN ACCIDENT WAITING TO HAPPEN. THIS IS A DISASTER WHICH DID NOT HAVE TO HAPPEN.

ALL those 'QUOTA TALENTS' who recently designed this "crash" will be wishing they were never born very soon.
