Rahul Gandhi is much more intelligent than many of his ancestors. He is the first Graduate in his dynasty after a long long time. Indira, Rajive, Sanjay, Sonia – all are without any university degrees.

All the countries who have progressed are homogeneous countries. But the Congress leaders chose the myopic concept of Secularism errr Communalism and keep the country divided ever so that we remain weak third world country forever.

ur so called 1st world homogenous countries like france uk sweden belgium now usa are drifting away from secularism.....one shud change according to the need of hour
I am glad Dr Guha has guts to say that Pandit Nehru neglected primary education in India same as did Prof Amartya Sen,1998,Nobel Prize winner in Economic Science, for his dream of IIT,IIM education of India's Oxford,Harvard,Wharon,Cambridge,LSE,SUNY Buffalo,New York..my view point is same.
Nehru was always an selfish whereas Gandhi always have liberal View. If you look at current dynasty culture of congress it all delivered from Nehru only. Whereas Gandhi always tried to select the leader from his performance not thru any family. If Nehru might have done this we could have better congress party with broader development.

Was Gandhi really liberal ? Then why couldn't he accept gracefully the defeat of his man Pattabi against Nethaji in the congress president's election ? And they drove Nethaji away from congress.
The old psueo intellectuals still have not come out of hangover of casteism and communalism used by British to divide the people and rule over. That is certainly not in the interest of the country. The Congress are the ones who have succeeded they British and view every thing through prism of community and caste in the name of Secularism. If our country has to progress we need to promote people who are sincere, honest and committed and not those who just represent a community. The policy should be "if country is ok, I am ok(obviously as I am also a part of country)". That is the true inclusiveness rather choosing as representatives of communities. And this psuedo intellectual is hailing such divisive policy adopted by Neheru as Secularism.
Only fools might have thought that being a Gandhi would mean he/she is always super intelligent. After all, all Nehru/Gandhis were just average. Only the slavish mentality of Indians propped them.
There is no comparison between Gandhi and Nehru. A historian making such comparison is astounding. Gandhiji's philosphy of education was totally different(not complimentary) to that of Nehru. While Nehru attracted crowds because of his physical and magnetic looks and the blessings Gandhiji showered on him for his sacrifices inspite of belonging to a rich aristocratic family, Gandhiji was rooted in Hindu culture, and a leader who created leaders. Similarly there is no comparison between Indian National Congress of Gandhi era(when Congress was a national party of patriotic and sacrificing leaders of the country), and the so called Congress of today led by a foreign uneducated woman, who never had any fundamental loyalty to India, and even worst her son, Rahul Gandhi-who is nothing more than a spoilt child, and is politically and intellectually extremely immature. It shames me to call them national leaders. India is going to dogs largely because of the sychophancy of the Congressmen to these individuals simply because they are related to Rajiv and Indira-both coming from Nehru. Gandhi surname comes NOT from Gandhiji-but a muslim whom Indira married, and Gandhiji gave him the surname Gandhi to save the embarassment of the Nehru family!! A historian should have clarified these anamolies that keep spreading, because even the media seems scared to expose this general myth among the ignorant public of today. Guha should have more forthright in highlighting these facts.
