by Mahendra Patel on May 12, 2010 12:01 AM  | Hide replies

Tim,

India is very affectionate country, if you spend more than three YEARS, You and You whole family will be HOOKED ON INDIA, They will not like to LEAVE INDIA.

Just Joking,

I always wondered why any Abassador wants to JUST stay only in NEW DELHI and not interact with INDIAN POPULATION- THESE ARE THE REAL SOUL OF INDIA- WHILE POLITICIANS ARE OTHER EXTREME FACE OF INDIA POLITICIANS REPRESENT GREED,EGO TRIP,INCOMPETANCE, FALS PROMISES ETC.

Ambassador vs Senator
by Roopal Vaish on May 11, 2010 10:24 PM  | Hide replies

Its one thing for the US Ambassador to speak very positively in India, giving pro-India comments. But the truth is, here in US, the lawmakers continue to view Pakistan as an ally and are reluctant to view India separately from Pakistan. There are many pro-Pakistan senators who will continue to support strong ties with Pakistan, unless the US public votes them out for its own reasons in November.

not really, They know pakistan where pakista is and where india is, that's why they compare it with Afghanistan, So They say AFGHAN/PAKISTAN ETC.

India expect Patting their back all the time like a good student, this doesnot happen in world of REAL POLITICS,.

US army need to WORK IN PAKISTAN- That's only reason PAKISTAN IS IMPORTANT, ONE THEY ARE OUT OF AFGHANISTAN, PAKISTAN WILL BE DUMPED LIKE HOT POTTETO.

You're right about Indian officials always needing a pat on the back from US, but the US will never dump pakistan like a hot potato, because of its strategic location vis-a-vis China, India and Afghanistan. Part of US policy is to have a finger in every pie, and this part of the world is quite some pie.

Roopal,

Yes to your observation, add Russia in the list also it is Very close to Pakistan.

There were times USA had their Puppet Countries all over the WORLD, PHILLIPINES, INDONESIA,NICARAGUA, IRAN, PANAMA- NOW PAKISTAN IS LAST SURVIVAL OF THIS LIST.

I agree with Patel that the sole interest of US in Pakistan is due to its task of clearing the ghost of Osama and co who are hiding in that nation. Once that job is done with and Pakistan is purified of its terror ideology, then the US will walk off. Pakistan is not much of a economic basketcase and its so called strategic location is all hogwash. India offers a far superior and greater strategic base aspect in addition to a vast economic market that will benefit the US a lot. Finally, we share so much in common from democracy to pluralism and freedom in true sense.

Also, 3/4 th of US companies have their R%D units in India engaged in the latest cutting edge tech work. US companies need Indian talent to stay ahead of the rest of the pack. That makes us strategic to the US in more ways then one.

India at one time had some fine basketball players who had the flair and talent. The problem is that there is a lack of proper infra for the sport and a professional orgn to run the sport in the nation. If these two are taken care of then the sport is bound to flourish in the nation.
